Been spread eagle in front of the heater however managed to get the power steering
Resi wellded out, not tig but with a spool gun before all the welders come out asking why I ground all the welds down on it… it’s cause they look like s***, I’ll probably polish it just need to get some finer grit belts

Broke a joint on my 3 link on the 4runner, the 80 uses them for the swingset steering so those need to be changed before the first real outing
After looking at how much sectional area there was at the break no wonder they broke.

Steering is back on, started on the flat belly will lose some break over clearance but should be able to slide over whatever it is with some skinny pedal.
Also going with more drivetrain angle for the rear drive shafts sake. Not to mention add some much needed rigidity to the whole truck.

Welding this thing out today
Also found some .5” bar of the good stuff for the front skid plate. If it cracks I’ll have way worse problems. Should be able to delete some rocks with it.

Tied the cage together in the front finally. Sandwiched the pinch weld and tied it to the lift points

Really want bigger tires to max out suspension travel, would gain 4” of up travel with 42s in the front however the rear isn’t the same story unfortunately. Probably should have done irs too but too late for that😂

does anyone else see the batmobile from the Nolan films or is it just me?

New items
Top x brace - will be connected to the harness bar to tie it to the lower frame
Harness bar tied to frame
Steering shaft finalized with a bearing and a rigid coupling
Rear frame gusseted
Some paint
More springs
Designing the rear hatch to open with a pair of linear actuators, shouldn’t be opening the rear unless something is wrong.
Almost to painting the interior roll cage

Damn nice day to paint. Cleared out Napa for paint again might paint the truck with this stuff just to keep the rust away for now. Not sure how much up travel I should run. 10” 15” got some Amazon springs and they seem to be compressing more than the lower spring rate non Amazon springs. So 10” will have to do for now.

So as of now no good paint job no wide body I just want to jump it.

Final width with 12.5s is about 86”

Next up
Linear actuators for the rear hatch

Plumbing - All the everything
Fuel
Radiator
Power steering
Nos
AC will come later after I gut the lemons car for weight

Wires - Going to do a consolidated harness everything next to the battery in the back. Need to figure out how to label everything.
Before that need to at least put all the lights where they are supposed to be.

Finished the power steering resi and started on the rear firewall. It’ll have sound deadening on one side and bed lined on the other

Almost sealed in the back
Started on a new turbo manifold
Got the rear hatch working with the dual linear actuators
Turbo is in, looks bigger than it is in the picture. The T51R mod should sing pretty good
Also started mapping out all the wiring

Got a bunch of little stuff done brackets mostly
Waiting on one more part for the turbo manifold, wastegate flange, other than that it is done
Ditch lights, front bumper, radiator lines.
Finished the sound deadening on the rear. Hammering everything out as fast as I can.
Hood is in the concept phase, goal is for it to open with hinges on the firewall cage thing. Only way for it to open and not make any intercooler/oil cooler ducting weird, it’ll make more sense later.

plumbing is pretty much done minus AC and heat

Started to do wiring and was getting weird results on the volt meter

After removing the dash, super fun btw, found a few areas that were questionable at best and probably would have resulted in a fire.
So I have gutted the whole thing. doing a fresh harness. Also means that I should be able to avoid having every other thing triggered by a ground wire.

Furthermore I’m going to 3d scan the dash and do some custom panels off the 3d printer. So it looks less jank

No idea what the guy was doing with the wires but he had tapped into the harness in 7-8 different spots with either shotty home depot connectors or a booger and no heat shrink

Officially day 1 of wiring the harness
Finished mounting the ecu and the alarm push start keyless entry module.
At least I’ll know everything that goes on with this truck.
Also 3d scanned the dash to make custom panels for everything
Doing an electric heater for the de fogger plumed into the factory ducting
Goal is to have all of the wires ran to the relay area by the end of the day

Nice work so far. You are optimistic on wiring that fast! I might be one of the few who are so lazy they buy the trialer wiring kits at Walmart and use them on project vehicles.

Lolol not a half bad idea
I got everything ran already outside of doors hooking everything up will take some time

Added the last of the lights
Got that fancy wire loom and heat shrink to class everything up. Got some welding done on the exhaust downpipe
