Hello, good info here. I have 2 questions. 1. Regarding keeping the factory camera; I am not sure what you spliced and where to get the camera to work. Can you be more specific?

2. Regarding android auto. Cannot seem to get it to work. A couple of times it worked until I unplugged from USB. Getting a new US b cable in today - I will try that. Any other info regarding easyconnect/android auto please advise.

Check this post about the OE rear camera...

The cable can be an issue. I bought a cheapo cable for my Galaxy phone and it doesn't work on my Outback Android Auto.

I haven't tried the AA with this radio.

Like I've said before... These radios are a hit or miss deal. Mine has things that don't work and Rhino never helped out. They will give you the run around or simply ignore you.

I just got my new cable. I had restored my factory settings on the phone as well. Plugged it in android auto came up. Worked great. Unplugged USB cable. Plugged back in. Cannot get to work anymore. Cannot believe it.

I just checked mine... I don't have AA installed.

Can you post a pic of the app?
So I uninstalled, Bluetooth, easyconnect and Android auto. Reinstalled - plugged in cable. It prompted me for Android auto. Setup. It connected. All good. I turned off car then unplugged cable. Then started car, plugged in cable in that order. Seems to be working overtime so far. i watched this and ordered a cable from watching this. Only cable that has worked so far.

This app is awful - do not install

The cable I have looks like the one on the right and doesn't work.
Still wanting to hook up backup camera (factory). Not sure what to do.
Check my previous post... it shows how to use the factory backup camera. 🤙

Are the four buttons at the bottom of the display work? Mine don't. That's why I wanted to return mine. I swear I got a used unit and they ignored my request to return.

Did the airbag light on when you install the unit ??
Because mine is ON and if u make the rear camera work plz tell us
We r waiting for it

Someone on a LC facebook page mentioned that he bought this unit and had BestBuy successfully install the unit under a $199 Total Tech Support program. I looked it up online and BB has some new program where from $199/year you get all sorts of free computer car elec install services and reduced rates on home services. Does anyone have any experience with this program or thoughts whether it's a good option for a place to install and figure out the bugs?

I am still not sure what wires you splice for the rear camera for the factory camera. It says you splice into the video wires (plural) with the positive from reverse. Also pulling a wire to the headunit? Is there any way to get a better clarification?

See this post for the airbag light solution.

We spliced into the video wires from near the camera (tail gate latch area); positive wire from the reverse lights; connected to the headunit and voila!

This is a great workup: I am still trying to wire up the reverse cameral. 2004LX470. You mention splice the positive wire from the reverse lights - but where am I connecting this wire to? You mention into the video wires near the camera. So I splice a wire from the positive reverse light (will that be red)? Then which wire of the camera? Then is there another video wire to splice?

Please let me know if you can.

Do you notice any background "static" when connected via Bluetooth or WiFi when playing music? It's more noticeable with a podcast or talk radio. When I connect via USB I do not hear any, however.

Hi fellow mudders,

So it all started when I saw THIS THREAD... I was all excited and started researching the possibilities and options. I originally wanted to install the smaller headunit where you replace only the MFD and includes "transplanting" some logic board. I dropped the idea when I came across the tesla style head unit. After many weeks of research and checking with local audio installers in Dubai, I pulled the trigger.
Had the unit installed early this week.

Short video posted by the installer on his Instagram page:
