@LX470MK Do the steering wheel controls still work? What does the voice command button translate to in this system? Thank you for the write up! Please let us know how things go as you use it more!
The steering wheel controls work. But the Next/Previous buttons are reversed!
Pressing Up (which I assume is next) translates into Previous and pressing down (which used to be previous on the factory stereo) plays the next track/videos. The Phone Pickup and hangup buttons work fine. I have not tried the voice control button yet. Will do and report back.
Does the unit have android auto in it with phone integration and all?
I tried Android auto. It works through an app called EasyConnection and the audio plays over bluetooth. But the phone screen remains on all the time and it seems to be a mere reflection/mirror of the phone screen. The phone screen has to be unlocked for the display to mirror.I have never tried android auto earlier so I really did not know what to expect.

Thanks for posting your experience with purchase, install and answering everyones questions!

Have you noticed how quickly the system boots up after key on- any delay? I’m a Vline1 owner as well and hope to upgrade into this unit sometime later this year. Vline jas worked ok but is sometimes slow to boot, and stays powered up after key off for approximately 25 minutes- which adds to battery drain. Really like the integrated A/C functions on this among other features.

The boot up time is like 25-30 seconds. But the device remains powered up... even after the car being switched off overnight. Not sure whether this is good or bad. There is an option called "Sleep Time" and the values are 8, 16, 24 and 48 hours. Maybe this is to define the time it remains powered up.

Thats important information thank you. Probably not good (for your charging system) that it remains powered up overnight. If those Sleep Time numbers are Hours and not Minutes it could be a problem (for some). I regularly drive my truck short distances so the battery seldom gets a full charge, requiring occasional float charge to top to back up every couple of weeks to keep battery healthy. If the tesla style system doesn't sleep/power down with in say 30 minutes, then it would be important to determine how many mA the unit is draining off the battery. For short trip drivers that could impact battery life, starter amp draw and how hard the alternator works to recharge the battery if its constantly running. A 50mA overall system drain is the max acceptable (rot)- so if its drawing more than this I would have concerns. Next time you have the negative lead disconnected from the battery, use a multi meter set to DC mA in line from the negative ground to the negative cable to check your amp draw. You'll connect it in line and leave for 1 hour (or longer) with all doors closed etc to make sure truck is completely powered down. Note your mA figures.

I, too, drive short distances... my daily drives are 10 miles to work and 11 miles back. With shorter drives during the evening. The only long trips I have are on weekends.
Over the past 1 year of me owning this LX I have never had the negative cable disconnected... and I dont see it happening in the near future. Also, I dont have a multimeter... sorry can't help with this bit.

Does the inclinometer work well? Not sure if you answered already, but can you change the vehicle type displayed?

Does the device have a GPS chipset?

I hope this is a huge success so the company will consider a version for the older 1998-2002 LXs and LCs.

@LX470MK - Apologies, but can you expand on the factory backup cam splicing needed? I'd also like to retain the factory cam if possible.

Did you retain your factory amplifier setup and would that impact why/how you spliced? I'm gutting the entire system (speakers, amp, head unit) and feel that this backup cam issue is the primary lingering question I have -- would love to just tap and place an RCA termination closer to the factory harness behind the head unit, but something is telling me it wouldn't be that easy.

So getting the back up camera to work with the headunit required either:
1) installing an after market camera.
2) splicing into the wires of the factory camera and pulling a wire to the headunit.

I decided I wanted to stick with the factory camera as the angle and coverage is almost perfect. We spliced into the video wires from near the camera (tail gate latch area); positive wire from the reverse lights; connected to the headunit and voila!

Factory camera working with the headunit:

Jumping in on the rearview cam specifically. Just installed one [after installing amp and running new speaker wire]. Bought a good RCA camera from Amazon and installed it to directions.

Wired + and - to corner reverse lights. Patched trip wire at the head unit [as directed on directions]. Camera turns on first thing when truck is put into reverse. Success and so happy to have it. Will probably install one on the front as well for giggles.

The wiring job to use OEM was just more hassle than I found worth it. Will defer to @LX470MK for insight there :)

Hey, thanks for the response! Would you mind PM'ing info on the cam you went with? Certainly an option; did you just replace where the factory unit was (if you had one previously)?

Installed into a 2003 LX. OE NAV plugs are different in 03 than 04+ And included harness didn’t work. With the 03 and 04 wiring diagrams I was able to hardwire it. The sound was terrible after installation. I finally found an output setting that corrected it. Currently everything is working as expected. The fit is a 7 out of 10. Other than huge challenges of no instructions, directions and near zero product support I am happy with the product. The factory 03 radio is so outdated there wasn’t much to loose.

Out of curiosity:
Was this install into a 03 LX or 03 LC?
Is it possible the wiring issue is/was LC vs LX, and not 03 vs 04+?

Sorry, 2003 LX. My guess is L/C would be the same. The 03 has a different NAV then other years (no hands free, no backup camera).
