To make a long story short, the rear LSD on my 99 LX 470 blew up a few months ago. Instead of replacing it with another LSD, I had the shop I took it to install a locking rear axle from a 98 Land Cruiser. ABS wires and brake lines etc were swapped from the broken LSD axle to the new locking axle. They also installed the OEM diff lock switch and confirmed that my truck has the ECU, and that the ECU is connected to the wiring harness - probably because the rear locker was optional on the 98-99 Cygnus and Canada spec LX. However, the project isn't done yet because I'm missing the sub-section of the harness that goes from the rear of the truck to the actual actuator/locker.
I'm trying to figure out which one of the following options I should go with:
I then looked up the part from Lexus directly, and it seems like the part has been superseded by 82164-60530, which I might be able to order from a Toyota/Lexus dealer for around $340.
However, before gambling hundreds of dollars on a whole harness when I just need like 4 wires (2 for the actuator, 2 for the sensor, is that right?), I wanted to see if there's any more information on the connectors, wires etc I would need to build a harness for this purpose myself. I'm not an electrical engineer by any means and don't really know how to read a wiring diagram, but I could probably swing it if I can figure out what I need to buy and assemble to get something that plugs right in.

I'm trying to figure out which one of the following options I should go with:
- Buying the sub harness by itself
- Buying the entire harness and removing the sub harness from it
- Making my own plug and play sub harness
- Taking it back to the shop who did the swap, who said they could source the OEM part needed and finish the job

EWD for rear locker?
We are troubleshooting the rear locker on my son-in-law's '99 100 series. I've been through a few of the rear locker problem threads. I own an 80 and I'm familiar with the basic troubleshooting of just drive it until it remembers to engage (figure 8's, gravel, CDL engaged in low...). Tried that...

Is a 99 100 Series OEM Rear Locker Plug-N-Play into an unlocked 99 100 Series?
Seems like I would be able to search this up but no hits on Google or Mud search. All my findings relate to post '99 100 Series recipient trucks or LX's Really all I need to know is if the third member w/ actuator installs into a non-locked model's rear axle housing. I just need to know if the...

Putting a locked 99 OE LC axle in a 2000 Land Cruiser
Last week @J1000 alerted me to some various 100 series (LC and LX's) that were at the north Denver PullandPay. The 98/99 LC is always intriguing becuase they had the option to be equipped with a factory rear locker. When I got there Jimmy was already getting some stuff and someone maybe had some...
