I have just gone through several hours of installing new CV's and all the bearings and bushings and seals along the way. I feel that after installing the Ironman 2.5 inch lift, the new angle the CVs ended up in cracked the boots and kicked this whole thing off. Honestly, I am glad it happened because that front end was in need of some serious attention.

I ordered the Ironman differential drop kit which will arrive today. Anyone out there have any experience with this kit? I have seen the video and it looks simple enough, but then I start reading comments and people are saying it is unnecessary, etc. I think shallowing out the angle of the CVs would be a good thing and make it worth it. Loss of a little ground clearance isn't going to bother me.

Lookiing for any words of wisdom on this...then I can start asking about inner and outer tie rod ends.

w/r to necessary: thinking that a drop would be ok w. new cv's, but might not be so good with used cv's as the rubber has "gotten used to" the angles.

do I know what I'm talking about....no....it's just a thought.
if it was only sitting, perhaps, but as the CV rotates and the boots flex constantly, lowering the angle is actually going to be putting less cyclical stress on the boots as they turn.

I have the same IM lift and the diff drop along with new OEM CV’s. Without the diff drop I would think the CV angle would be too much and cause premature wear. Install is pretty simple and straight forward.

Thanks all. I gace up on it after my cordless impact wouldn't break anything free. Gonna use a lift and a garage I have access to along with a better impact.

Spray with penetrant a day or two before. The left and rear mount were still tough but I got it off with an impact and a long wrench on my back.

Also, it's the perfect time to replace worn differential bushings.

Yep, you can. Did it. There are multiple Videos online also showing how to avoid damage on the rubber parts when pressing it in.
