If your point at what i'm thinking your pointing at, the hose goes to the oil cooler.

All those hoses are original. Have the original clamps on them. I would say they are due for changing.

I think it's leaking from the weep hole on the water pump though. When you grab the fan can you move it back and forth?

Will check before i go to work. I thought it was leaking at this boot/hose. It is a major pita to remove. Did not know it but it has 2 clamps on it instead of 1. Secnd clamp is almost impossible to get to and i tore the hose/boot in half.

so if my fan moves up and down what does that mean??

I am gonna get degreaser on the way to work and clean it up before going any further i think.

ok i checked my fan and it did not move/rock up and down.....

Not trying to kick you in the gut but you are going to need more than a can of degreaser. A gallon jug of concentrated Purple Power, a scrub brush, and a hot water pressure washer would probably do the trick. I've been there, done that, and wish I would have just broken out the big guns to start.

Walmart sells a gallon of Super Clean. It's the best stuff I've ever used. Spray it on let it sit and then pressure wash the motor. Make sure you don't get it on the power steering pump, water pump or alternator. It gets into bearings and ruins them quick.

Also cover your dizzy cap and carb filter.

It will go from this

to this real quick.

bought a gallon of simple green and a small brush. Gonna use my dad's pressure washer if my brother ever brings it up to me .

since my fan did not move should i be good or what trollhole???

if the fan does not move up/down or in/out the bearings should be good. doesn't mean the seals are good but it's a good sign.

SimpleGreen is not going to touch that stuff and you will be scrubbing for days. Purple Power or Purple Dragon...that will do it.

What she said.

When I was cleaning up the engine compartment in my Pig I went through several aerosol degreasers from the FLAPS, then a few spray degreasers including Simple Green, then I picked up a gallon jug of Purple Power from Wally-world and used it full strength. The difference was amazing.

Now I've never heard of the Purple Dragon... (insert joke here...)

lol everyone seems to have an opinion on degreasers!! My boss is s dirt track racer and he swears purple power sux monkey balls. U guys say the exact opposite. Mud is somewhere in the middle on this.

The pressure washer will do alot by itself...Try that first and then go to the degreasers. Be prepared to get some (maybe a lot of) grime blown back at you.

This is rare, but I agree with Steve...

And after you spray it on your motor, it becomes big and gay???
