Looks like a nice way to see what's around us! I'm not leading this trail but I think the club needs to get out and see some new sights, meet some new like minded folks.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Meeting point will be the Giant gas station in San Ysidro. We will be leaving the meeting point promptly at 9:30.

We will be heading west from San Ysidro through the White Mesa area, around Cabezon Peak, through the ghost town of Guadalupe and finally stopping at the Guadalupe Ruins.

This will be an all day run and very easy driving, may not even need four wheel drive!

We will be using CB Channel 4 or HAM frequency 147.57

Who is sponsoring the run?

Oh ya it does.

I need to get finished with my crap so I can go play. Hopefully by the end of March

None offend me.

There's some very cool stuff out there.

There are quite a few ruins and abandoned structures on the way to Cabezon. I always enjoyed exploring out there. I used to go climb cabezon after my flights in the morning, and before my flights in the evening. Good fun.

And yes, very stock friendly. Washboard roads, is about as rough as it gets. At least, unless it is snowy or rainy.

I am going to try and make this trip....Are comms mandatory? The only HAM I have in the 80 is of the sandwich variety and I took the CB out many moons ago.

Looking forward to the pictures. Have a great trip. Wish I was closer but now its on my radar screen:cool:

We're considering participating. We've got girl scout cookie sorting and distribution that weekend but think we can make it work if we get a lot done Friday.

Who else is going on this? It would be a little weird to just show up with a bunch of folks I don't know. Is there another source of information on the run or do I just rely on you (Ali) to convey the details?

Fleg from NMOFFROAD is the trail leader/organizer. Good guy, and a good group. They did a run with us up to Jemez last fall. Mostly heeps but they aren't prejudice against LC and are family friendly too.

I won't make it but just because I'm behind on building my Toyota and don't have the time available to go play.

Mark,

I'm iffy. It will depend on how much I get done tomorrow and Friday.

Something weird is going on with their forum. It won't let me register so I can respond to the post that I am attending. I did see that Scoops86 had responded though.

Gee, it's not like you don't have two other GIANT 4x4s to use for this trip :flipoff2:
