Just came across some interesting brake masters for forklifts, they come in 1" bore too and could be an option for converting to dual circuit.

That's interesting Archie, I don't see the dual circuit though. Makes me interested in learning about forklift brake systems though.

I'll give the bot written article the benefit of doubt. It looks they are using dual piston to back up a single circuit as opposed to a dual circuit.

as a forklift engineer I've seen a lot of setups. Forklifts only brake on two wheels. Mostly drum brakes. And I have never seen a dual circuit, including mitsubishi's. I dare to say that article is wrong.

Don't know that particular Hyster master cylinder and don't know why that extra line is there.

Everyone here is always very worried about the single circuit. I'd say that in a well maintained car with good brake lines the fluid won't be gone at once. When a cylinder starts leaking it will be little bits at a time. And you will feel the pedal will get deeper when the fluid reservoir is empty. When you want to do something to make it feel saver I'd say a fluid level switch with a warning lamp on the dash would be almost just as good.

I don't have stock masters so what are my options to stay with in Toyota family? I don't mind single circuit but are there any early 40 master cylinder that would fit in stock location without modifying holes at firewall? PO installed Wagners at stock locations but I am not liking them.

This one is still available at the forklift parts store: 47200-35011. On toyodiy this is for the 1969 FJ40. I think this the replacement for the tin can masters. Actually, they look identical except for the reservoir. When I google this part number it looks like it is still available OEM. You could ask Beno or Kurt.

When you have time: sometimes a set of used tin can masters show up. I found a set on ebay a couple of years ago. You have to be patient and trace every lead, but you'll find them.
