steering rack replacement options (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys (esp. Dan)

I searched mud and did not see much. Was at the dealer for an oil change (80k miles) and they said, torn rack boot and leak. Needs replacement of entire rack and a hose. $$$$$$

I know that is for a different car, but would assume it is similar.
Also, any options for not going through dealer for parts?

You can get a new bellows for $8 on RockAuto, but the leak is a bit concerning.

RockAuto has rebuilt rack options as well:

Can check out CVJ Axles - CV Axles & Steering Racks for all your needs for a remanufactured steering rack. They're pretty well known for quality CVs.

Cvj is a good option. Moog makes them too as reman. Oem is the only option for new new.

Thanks for recommendations, I will call and determine options. I looked at the actual leak and it's not too bad. Just waiting for my repair books to arrive and we go from ther.
