LMAO.... just kidding around with you guys... It started after about 3 minutes. Sounded pretty smooth actually.. but the exhaust is shot. It wont move at all and i didnt even try to . I know the clutch slave is shot as well as the brake cylinders. I took a video of it and i'll post it up this weekend(if anyone's interested).

I look forward to seeing the "yellow tie event" in full colour this weekend.

Man. Did you wax that thing or something? The body looks great. :)

Nope..thats the way i found it...but Marco Polo & Patches pointed out that they thought it had been repainted. The last owner says no but it has..probably sometime in the early 80's.

it is an obvious repaint, the roof gives it away as well as a few other items...

but who cares, that is a score... a REAL score.

congrates

I've missed a lot of threads over the last while from sporadic visits. I'm glad I clicked on this one. That is a SWEET find.

congratulations. lovely.

Disappointing...nothing to wrench...no problems to solve......

Just pulling your leg.....

Great find....you must have done well in your previous life to be so lucky in this....

Congrats!!!!!!!

Thanks Ron. I've had to do a little more work on this one personally than most of my cars in the past. I think thats what makes this one special to me. It reminds me of when i was working for a guy outta Houston in the mid 80's. He restored, bought, sold, raced & repaired classic Ferrari's, Maserati's, Alfa's. This was my 1st job that introduced me to a world other than Ford & Chevy's. Working for Mr. Forristall for all those years really opened my eyes to how much engineering went into those rare cars. They were built to serve a certain purpose.... to be thrown around a race track as fast as they could go.

I see alot of that in these Landcruisers. Maybe not the speed aspect but a very purpose built vehicle. Heck, i couldn't believe how thick the fuel & oil filter retaining bolts are. I took them to my local auto parts store to see if he could match the elements and the guy behind the counter thought i was working on a Cat dozer!

Nice.. don't you wonder why they parked it in the first place?

I don't know if you can but park it in a secure place or make sure you don't let it be an easy target for theft.. Congrats!
