I had an extra Alubox 42L and was able to get everything in there with some padding.

For comparison:
Alubox 42L = 23" x 15 x 9.5
Pelican 1610 = 24.8" x 19.7 x 11.9
Starlink case = 25.5" x 17 x 13.25
Caseman 28.6" x 17.55 x 11.65

Also added a mount to my Slee swing out rear bumper ladder and painted it black.

It says that is what it is in the Caseman page:

"Custom foam interior accommodates the dish, 75’ cable, power cable and has room for other items. There is room for the stand as there may be instances where it is the only option for uneven terrain. Additionally, there is a compartment for one TECKNET Portable Power Station, giving you roughly three hours of operational time. (Not included, sold separately)"
I ordered that battery yesterday on Amazon. Will let you guys know how well it works with Starlink.

For long term use, I'll use my Goalzero 1500x

That would be great to get a sense of that battery. Where I am in Salt Lake City, a lot of people are renting out their Starlinks and including a battery and/or solar component. Something relatively inexpensive and small would be a good add on if I decided to do the same.

Any update on the battery? Worth the price?

I think that battery is for some emergency or short use .. 1 or 2 hours when Traveling without an electric source. Kayak, atv, snow mobile or back pack trip. Small aircraft or helicopter trip? If you have a vehicle better off with a cheep inverter. Just MHO

Just tested. Put dish in my driveway. Powered on with the battery. It locked on to signal within 3-4 minutes which is rare.

Being in the east, it's heavily congested and there is a 1+ year waitlist for the regular Starlink plan.

After one hour of usage with 2-3 devices connected, battery at 70%:

About 2 hours later, Starlink throttled my down speed but battery holding well at 44%:

Observations:
It twas really hot in my garage while closed. Battery fan was running most of the time yet the unit was cool to the touch. The Starlink router was WAY hotter than the battery. This was a 2 hour test.

From memory, the wall charger that comes with the unit is around 15W. It will take a long time to recharge with that charger. I have some 45w USB AC chargers and they will charge the battery way faster. It's all covered in the instructions.

No regrets with buying this battery and I'm impressed on the run time.

I would not rely on this as an emergency power source either. Kinda a science experiment.

I'm covered with other power options but thought it would be cool to test this unit out for Starlink use case. Way much lighter and convenient than my Goal Zero Yeti 1500x.

Why were you throttled, do you have their RV service?

I have this happen so often and it’s gotten to where I can’t use it as my main source of internet. I have residential with portability. The few times I’ve bypassed the Starlink router and ran my native mesh router setup it’s been poor performance.

Yes, I have RV service plan. Throttling is disclosed in the terms and conditions.

Your throttled speed is still faster than mine in NC. Even off peak, I have not seen the purported 100mbps speed others have. Hopefully time and volume of satellites will fix this.

Thanks for all that info! That's helpful. Given my limited use of the system, I am considering renting it and offering a power source as an add on. I like the size of this, but may stick with my Jackery for rental purposes mostly because of the long recharge times.

On the above links the one that shows the pop sites ..

The green triangle symbol shows the pop site you have been assigned to.
The purple shows the available ones.

If you find a purple is closer to you than your assigned pop site. Then you can contact StarLink to re-assign the pop site assigned to your account.
This will increase you speed as most of the latency delay is from the pop.

These do change when traveling.

I went to an off-road event the past 4 days with very limited cell service. AT&T had 0-1 bars of service. Verizon wasn't much better. Fired up the Starlink w RV plan as needed. Speeds fluctuated from 15-100 mbps depending on the day and time. It was a game changer. Turn off overnight, turn on in AM and a flood of messages and emails would stream in to my devices. I don't even bother to turn on the Weboost anymore.

Has anyone tried the new FLAT high speed dish yet?

STARLINK-FLAT DISH.jpg

It’s on order…
In-motion dish is massive!
It also comes with a dedicated power supply, mounts for the supply and router, and a separate usb to Ethernet cable so you can bypass the router without hacking the cable.
