This says 100W @ 48V. Would be interesting to run solely from DC but few people have a 48V battery pack so you'd still need to convert from 12V to 48V. At 100W, that's 8.5A @ 12V, which is a lot of power.
The link shows the $25 12-48v converter (POE supply) and states that actual power draw is 19-48 watts.

Took the Starlink RV camping where I had no signal w AT&T. I live in the congested east with a waitlist for Starlink so expected to be throttled. I was getting about 20 Mb down. Hooked up to a Goal Zero Yeti 1500x at 7 PM. Could have unplugged when we went to bed but left on overnight. Yeti was at 52% around 10 AM.

My next test will be on various apps that are configured to use two factor authentication. Some use SMS instead of IP. For example, I wasn‘t able to complete a PayPal transaction on a plane using Wi-Fi. I know first world problems but I did purchase this to work out in the middle of nowhere when needed.

Just painted and installed a dishy mount. Now i just have to find a good place to pack her…

That’s a neat place for it. I’m curious what you end up doing for dish storage, its in that strange space of not that big but the mounting pole makes it too deep to pack away easily. Mine gets stuck in my camper without being packed in anything.

I’m sure they will get smaller, maybe they will offer an ‘RV’ version that’s nice and packs me and small.

Which Starlink mount is that?
I bought this one below for mounting on a house but it's kind of big to mount on my swing out bumper.

I'm thinking something smaller like you have or mount the stand the RV kit came with on my roof rack. I agree the stand and dish are awkward to pack efficiently. BTW - The dish and stand are a pain to separate/release at least from our experience last weekend.

Are you talking about the stand shaped like a big “X”? If so, I don’t recall any issues with mine. However, I use the pivot mount with magnets for my camper and the fitment in that is so loose I’m surprised the wind doesn’t blow the dish around.

I’m surprisingly impressed with the speeds I’m getting (I switched from residential to RV), and how quickly it boots up. I have it hacked to use dc or the stock router.
Now I just need to figure out if I can leave it mounted there or if the driving vibrations will jack with the motors.

I’ve seen people have mounted these on boats and they cruise around with them, I’d imagine there are similar stresses on the water. Also, some of the boat mounts have disabled the motor so that the dish is stationary with the fish surface completely flat. Maybe worth looking into, it’s a little out of my comfort zone to get that mod heavy.

Is 60 down the fastest you’ve had on the RV service and what had you been hitting before switching? I’m planning on using mine at my house as well so idk if I wanna take a cut in speed just for the ability to suspend service. It all depends on how it will run on my home routers and it’s handling of our cameras and streaming.

Clean mounting though, looks really good.

Has anyone tried this?

This guy took a milling machine and cut out the starlink base and then make a flat base, and bolted to the roof top on his cruiser.

I wonder how much signal is lost without allowing the movement?

Then built the new base

Then Flat mounted it stationary on the cruiser roof top. (youtube MV Freedom)

New Issue with the "DISH" trying to kill Starlink by saying they (DISH) own the whole band width.

Help put a stop to this now.

Nuts. I signed it, had my neighbors and wife sign it and will get more people to sign.

Tested in Hamilton Montana - this area is shown as "Coming in 2023" on the Official Starlink Map -

Working great - I have the RV system - How can I connect more access points, such as two Velop mesh points to extend coverage?

After some trial and error, I finally found a pack out method for starlink that works for me. All you need is the wall mount installers bag, 2x2' rollercam straps, and a little Velcro. Everything packs up nicely. This is a case where simple was so much better.
