So long start short I my car just Rieves and stalls when starting unless I absolutely floor it and hold the rims at 3000 for 30 seconds, also found this vaccum leak, help!!!

I think that is the crank case vent, it should go to the air cleaner

That's open port creates a significant vacuum leak. It goes to the HAIport under the air cleaner. Run a 6mm vacuum line between the two and your problem should improve.

Edit: I misidentified that port. Not the one I was thinking of. You have a leak someplace else. Use carb spray to try and pinpoint the location. Get back to us with results.

Yeah it's not the line it's the valve base that's leaking I removed the line for the pic

I haven't had a loose vacuum hose create enough of a leak (in my experience) to stall the engine. But to be sure (if you can hold idle using the choke) go around and use hose clamps on each vacuum hose to see if you can find the leak. If not... the usual suspects are the carb, or intake manifold crack or a leak where the manifold joins the head.

It's pretty common. I would put resurfacing and gasketing the manifolds, right up there with knuckle rebuilds as a "right of passage" for Cruiser owners. At least 2F Cruisers anyway.

efi, not carb. I think it's the PCV grommet...

I've identified the grommets it's a 3fe I'm trying to order a new one now haha some days I wish it were a 3f

3fe.....should have figured.

Hi, I'd clean that engine bay, would run cooler, easier to find leaks. Mike

Yeah working on that. I just deleted my cc which helped a little and working on cleaning up the engineI took a video of what it's doing. But mud won't let me upload it it used to have a high idol and would stall but I fixed that by fixing a couple vacuum leaks and adjusting the throttle body.

gotta say, the CC is one of the least un-necessary devices under the hood...you should try to get it hooked back in. Even on a full desmog, I'd keep the CC...hth.

It's completely shot. I may try the vc120 option. I had so much tank pressure previous to removing it. I replaced the hose on that valve and used a better hose clamp and it seamed to help but it's still having issues starting and imeadiatly stalling. Do you thing I have a bad leakin my egr? Or could the egr cause this issue.

As fas as using carb cleaner or starting fluid I can't find any vaccum leaks with it I've sprayed it all over, should I try a smoke test?

So with starting fluid it starts right up. So I'm not getting fuel at start? Wouldn't it not idol if this was the issue?

Vac gauge, if putting starting fluid helps, that means the added air is burned with the starting fluid. You need to source the leak with a gauge and/or locate the loud hiss. A big enough leak will keep the truck from running, which is why flooring it (dumping fuel) helps it run.

Trace vacuum lines off the manifold and carb to locate a leak. PCV elbow from valve cover to air cleaner is a big leak that needs to be either capped temporarily or routed to intake. The line from the carb that routes to the PCV (below spark plug 6) is where the PCV would connect. If it is disconnected, it will stall.

EDIT: Just realized it is a 3FE...that brings in a whole slew of electrics. Start with vacuum though and read vacuum with a vac gauge. Otherwise we are all shooting in the dark.

Ok I'll gauge it. I know my intake hoses are good. And like I said once started it idols and drives pefictly. In fact the idol is 100 rpm low
