Just cleaned it. It was pretty caked with dust so hopefully that helps. Probably need to order a new one. Appreciate the suggestion.

Edit: Looks like I'm not the first person with this complaint
SQOD, how does one get to the filter in question? I looked, and there is a whole lot of plastic surrounding the seat bottom.

Has anyone used this power steering fluid from Toyota dealership. I purchased during the last sale.

This should help. Move the seat all the way up/forward.

Stupid question that falls into the "only you can answer this for yourself, dumbass" category:

ROOF RACK DECISION:
I hate the stubby look of the LX570 roof rack. I'm getting rid of it one way or another. I also have never put anything on the roof of my car since a volvo wagon I owned decades ago. But in the back of my mind, I keep wondering if it might be handy to have a roof rack for my ladder or lumber or something at some point. I'm also concerned with the potential for Fking up the paint trying to set my ladder on the roof. My 16' collapsing ladder "sort of" fits inside the truck, but it's not super safe riding across the center console lid and folded seatbacks. It's not something I carry regularly, but there's always the potential for longer items, home depot trips, etc. But so far in my adult lifetime, I pretty much do not put crap on the roof.

So should I:
1) delete the roof rack altogether, naked roof look. I do like the look and I already have the OEM parts to accomplish this. MPG gain?
2) pick up a used LC rack, just to have it *just in case* I can probably get one for free locally. I don't love the look of the LC rack, but I like it a hell of a lot better than the LX rack.

WWMD?

I had an LX 450 years ago that did not have a roof rack, and it looked slick. As I recall, I had a generic set of crossbars tha I could clamp on easily whenever I wanted to put anything up top. Now I have a Prinsu rack which is full length but does have some mpg penalty.

So my daughter hit a curb on our 2004 MB e320 4matic. Busted the radiator, condenser and lower front bumper. Im strongly considering doing a rally build with this thing: leaving off the plastic and wheel liners, doing a skid place, possibly bull bar, 1-2” lift,…. Am I crazy?

Anyone fabricated their own aluminum skid plates?

My buddy built a whole camper out of aluminum. Get a TIG and get practicing. 🤘

Yep. Alaska style.

I guess I should’ve also mentioned That I can’t find a Salvage yard front bumper plastic and if I don’t one from Mercedes will be about $3000 which is slightly less than this thing is worth. But we bought it new 21 years ago and know the history.

You need to find a front end from a Hyundai Equus.

I love how slick @ryanCA roof looks without the rack. Aesthetically, my vote goes to ditch the stock LX rack if not using it or go with an aftermarket..

WOW what a gorgeous car. Thank you!

Beautiful! Would look even better with 1967 vintage license plates.
