Took off the grille to plan a winch install, found this: broken driver side headlight “mount”

Any DIY type fixes? Or am I looking at a new light housing?

The horizontal brace that connects the driver and passenger light housings at the bottom was removed prior to me purchasing the vehicle. Same with the center bracket that supports that horizontal piece.

If you JBWeld it a couple small holes drilled into the headlight side to get the stuff to mechanically grab could help final strength. Then you’re not solely relying with the surface bond.

Yes. I was also thinking of making a “splint” that would get glued across the break
 
Not a stupid question but a really stupid mistake that leads up to the question: what is the difference between the front globes and the rear globes? I just realized I did not even check which ones I put where last week. To top it it all off, I just installed Slee AHC globe protection plates. Is the difference in the globes just the pressure?

You might want you youtubegoogle 'super glue + baking soda' for some inspiration. There are some DaVinci-grade multi-pass repairs of the most rediculous sort out there. Or as our esteemed colleague mentioned, JB Weld, perhaps with splinting for strength.

I saw those plastic weld kits tempting. Very tempting. I can hear the wife now…

Wife: “ that’s a pretty cool hood ornament. Why’d you make it out of plastic?”

Me: “it’s not a hood ornament… it’s the headlight bracket. It’s not supposed poke out the hood like that… I was trying this new plastic welding kit. “

I've used mine on numerous projects with great success. The "staples" provide rigidity, and you can cover up repairs with melted plastic. Not for the most exquisite cosmetic repairs, but for something like a broken headlight tab, it's just the right thing.
 
Is there even a part number on the globes? I sure can’t see one looking at the installed globes.
I couldn't find part numbers on the accumulators, only on the boxes. I believe they are the same volumes (400 cc each), but different pressures (2.26 MPa front, and 1.90 MPa rear).

Yeah, that would make sense given the weight bias, but does not make sense to me is why there is no p/n on the actual globes, if in fact they are different pressures hence different parts. There does appear to be a serial number stamped into each globe, but I have no idea how that would help the end user. Thanks.
 
Other than stock, what luck have people had with replacing the headlight housings? Mine just wont get clear and have a lot of internal cracks .

Run away from aftermarket buckets. They won’t have the resources to make the super precise shapes needed to put the light where it needs to be 100yds down the road, nor will the overall quality be there. Stuff like the lenses yellowing even faster than stock.

It stings but you’re better off waiting for a sale and buying genuine Toyota.
 
Some manufacturers make tab kits for their headlights.. I do wish Toyota would get on board.

I reached out the seller, JDM/old-rarity-japan, and they actually were quick to respond. Apparently the suffix on the serial number has either an H for the front or an L for the rear. That is great customer service! I will be spending some more time underneath that truck tomorrow, assuming I can get some ahc fluid first from the local dealer. I figure the chances I got lucky and put the globes in the right place are slim.

If that's true, it's probably a nice bit of info to add to the AHC sticky.
 
Ok so a bit embarrassed asking this....especially after owning 4 200s!

On my wife's 2020 the BSM and RCTA dash lights have always been on... I never even thought about if they should or not.

My 2013 doesn't have them, but I just assumed it was because it was older.

So the SQOD is should those lights be on the dash and if not, why are they on!
