Anyone have suggestion for repairing a “minor” hole in the fender liner? Some sort of fiberglass or resin patch maybe?

I think my fender liner got hit by a small meteor or possibly came from the factory like this and is definitely NOT the result of driving over and through downed trees 😂

Flex tape. 🤣

Throw some Grace Ice and Water Shield adhesive bituminous sheet on it. It'll look agricultural, but probably outlast the truck. If you're near VT, I have a partial roll that you can grab a piece off.

My stupid question of the day: how does one follow a thread without commenting on/in it?
There are some good threads going that I would like to get email updates when somebody posts to it, but I don’t really have anything to contribute.

I suppose I could post some inane comment like “follow” and this would get me the emails when somebody says something. But this is kind of rude to all the people already following the thread. They don’t need an email letting them know I posted “follow.”

There is a button at the top of each thread that says "Watch". If you click that you can decide how you want to be notified. You can unwatch at any time after that by clicking a "unwatch" button in the same location. You can also change it in your user settings.

If you like "Watch", you'll love "Ignore". :) One of my favorite ways to reduce stress while browsing 'mud.

See…. I knew mine was a stupid question.

FYI partsouq says the liner runs about $75. So depending on how much you care it's not a hugely expensive part to replace.

If it's for the passenger side hit me up. I have one for a 2021 sitting in my garage.

Thanks for the offer. It looks like the part numbers are different for 2012-2015 and >2015. It also looks like the parts may be different between LC and LX. Who knows if they are actually different or if its just the standard rich folks tax. The part number for the LC is 5387560121. The part for the LX is 5387560131. The LX part is $30 more 😂

I need to decide if the time and effort is worth it or if some black duck tape would suffice. My goal is really just to prevent mud, snow, debris, small mammals, hobos, etc from gathering in there.

But if we can confirm that it will fit, I will gladly take it off your hands.

Duct tape will probably peel off, with the amount of spray that area gets when you drive in the rain.

The quick fix is to cut a thick piece of black plastic, oversized for the hole, insert it behind the liner, then pop-rivet it in place. Or use some of the Toyota plastic push-in clips. Or screw it in, I suppose, though I'd be concerned that I'd drive over a screw that came loose and find it in my tire later. That will prevent splashing up in there at least, and probably won't be noticeable unless someone looks close. You can use some RTV black to seal it together as well so that stuff also won't drop down... plus it'll work like an adhesive in case the rivets or screws eventually come out. Should keep everything but a determined hobo out ;-)

Does anyone know what dvd I need to update my 09 lx nav? I see a ton on eBay but I don’t want to brick my system by installing the wrong thing.

Ok. I have another SQOD (well, I actually have a backlog of SQODs numbering in the thousands, but...) -

Why does one tire increase in pressure more than the others? If my CTIP is 35 PSI and I drive for an hour, three will be 39-40 PSI and one will be 43 PSI, as an example. At first I thought this might be due to alignment or balance, but I started to notice that one tire will start to diverge from the others over time and eventually, even at CTIP it will be 2-3 degrees above the other three.

I am not sure exactly when I first noticed this, but it has been a while back. It came to mind again this weekend when I aired up after wheeling and then driving about 120 miles home. When I aired up, I used my Morflate, which by default will equalize the pressure. When I started out, they were all at 36 PSI. When we pulled in at home, one was 44 and the others were 40. The next morning, three were at 36 and one was at 38.

I"m gonna go with wonky TPMS sensor. It would be unusual if all the sensors were exactly the same. Maybe I think this because I also have a tire that reads 2 psi higher than the others pretty consistently.

I'm with grinchy. I am assuming that you're reading the tpms pressures? Maybe use a decent handheld pressure guage to check them manually to see how close the reading is?

I’ve experienced the same. Could it be a tire that has more weight on it than others, maybe it’s a little higher temp?

in house building, they make all sorts of elastomeric flashing tape systems now, for flashing around windows or doors to keep the water out. One is ZIP SYSTEM tape.
that stuff is very strong and will stick to anything, forever. Just find one colored black, and throw a small patch onto the hole. you probably want to clean off the wheel well scrunge first with some alcohol and let it dry first

That's a good point. I use Eternabond tape on my camper. Unfortunately it's white.

That's why I suggested Grace Ice and Water. Same general stuff as Zip system seam tape but thicker and larger sheets.

I was gonna suggest Zip tape too. That stuff is super sticky, I find it sticks much better than the Grace tape.

I believe the most current update you can get is either 2013 or 2015. And I believe it has to be dealer installed. Wasn't worth it to me.
