It's because they sell many more LC's to right hand drive countries than the US.
Between the Middle East (by far the biggest market), Europe, Russia, USA, and South America (2018 numbers from the Toyota Global sales site indicative of trend), 2/3 of LC200s sold are left hand drive. Right hand drive sales in Asia, some parts of Africa, and Australia are about 1/3 of total sales volume.

Has anyone had any issues with dealers denying warranty coverage after putting larger tires on? I'm putting 275/70 18 Toyo AT3s on my 2021 today.

Coming from an Audi where dealers look for aftermarket mods and will sometimes flag your car if they find something. I wouldn't think tires would be an issue, but thought i would check.

Dealers don't even know what a Landcruiser is, much less what parts come stock on it.
That small of a change to your Highlander, 4Runner, or whatever they think it is will not be noticed.

so why is the full tank on the passenger side?

It pains me to ask this. Mostly because I fear the answer is either blatantly obvious or explained somewhere that I haven't discovered.

Either way, this would be the thread for it, so here goes...

How did the site come to be called IH8MUD? (Seems to be plenty of mudders on here)

Ever had to clean hardened, cement-like mud out of everything underneath...or slipped and slid helllessly with mud-packed treads? Or been hopelessly bogged in chocolate pudding? When you do...you might start to kinda h8mud a bit too. ;)

Good question. Every car in my fleet has the filler on the right side. Toyota, Lexus, Subaru, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes Benz. All right hand fill.
I seem to recall the country of manufacture dictates which side the filler is on, but I couldn't swear to it.

100s have it on the drivers side. 200s on the passenger side. Both made in Japan. I don't know that it means anything.

Imagine this box is the Charcoal Canister. If properly mounted here so it doesn't interfere with the hoses and valve cover etc. (I'd use the v8 vanity cover mounting points) is there any reason I should avoid this location?

<Edit tried with the actual canister. It hits on the front edge>

So long as there's clearance, allowing for some space for the engine to move, I think you're fine with it there.

The actual canister is a tiny bit smaller than the mock-up, but even with that clearance will be tight, 1/4"to 3/8" probably to the hood.

Assuming my engine mounts are still good, how much range of motion is there?

Hard to say as the engine doesn't just torque side to side but can move up and down appreciably. I'd 3/4-1". Rather have it touching the hood than sacrifice clearance against the motor.

Hmm. There's lots of horizontal room available but not much vertical, certainly won't be 1". Maybe best in the originally planned location in the right front.

I screwed it up. My fill is on passenger side. Annoying when it’s raining and I have to get out and walk to PS to fill gas. Wondered why they switched it.

You could always move to Australia... Then fill’s on driver. :)
