^That would be interesting if they did. Would be a great locale for a meet.

I’m in Orange County CA for a week or so and have some time to kill. Anyone know if TRD here in Costa Mesa is open to the public and if they have any kind of showroom?

Even if they don't might be worth asking anyway. I'm reminded of a couple of us driving randomly (read lost) around Antigua and spied a local brewery. Asked about a tour and the gate guard said he didn't think so, but called into the main building. Brewmaster came out and gave us a personal tour, loaded us up with t-shirts, ball caps and we got to sample a few beers (in addition to Wadadli they also brewed Red Stripe under license).

I stopped in to see. They build NASCAR engines there and that’s it. Would’ve thought that would be in NC, seems strange out here but guess it a closer flight to Japan for their engineers.

Stupid question on Tundra wheels for use on LX570. I have the stock 285/50/20 w/ p-metric AT tires. Trying to get something like 65 or 70 profile tires.

I see a lot of desire for Tundra TRD wheels but not sure why. I'm looking at craig list and see various Tundra wheels. I see 5 spoke wheels for $300 and then see TRD wheels for $800.

Are there functional differences for the casual, non-rock climbing, vehicle? Or just cosmetic (which I don't really care about)? Is any Tundra 275/65/18 capable wheel good enough (just need the fit and the profile)? Or should I really just search for Tundra TRD wheels if I'm 'upgrading' to off pavement wheels?

Is this going to be a problem? If so, dealer, or window repair place? Or can I fix that myself?

It's a pretty common issue. Just replaced all 4 of mine today. ~$36 for each of the 4 pieces.

front left 7572060070
front right 7571060070
rear left 7574060050
rear right 7573060050

Took all of 5 minutes for all 4. Just rip the old ones out and slide the new ones in.

If that is the top of the windshield, probably looking at glass installer to replace it.
I would call the dealer and ask. most sub it out to local window shops.
if that is the case, contact your insurance provider if you have glass coverage. they may cover the replacement.

There are three different TRD wheels for the Tundra listed in order from cheapest to most expensive.

An 18" cast wheel that looks the same as non-TRD Tundra/Sequoia wheel except The TRD version is all blacked out and with TRD center caps,
The Rock Warrior, a 17" forged wheel (read lighter yet stronger - typically).
And finally a new forged wheel that is coming out on the new TRD Pro Tundras (think it's an 18" but haven't seen on in person yet)..

BTW, the non TRD cast wheel is structurally the same and usually a lot less - in my neck of the woods it would be worth getting the cheapest, paint them and buy a set of TRD center caps.

Its the top strip. Same process?

He was referring to the window seals at the botton of each passenger door sill.
They do tend to fall apart, so might wanna grab those part numbers while they're handy. ;)
I just replaced mine and it's super quick. Unfortunately your windshield will probably require an installer...

Yea I didn't see your pic quite right. If that's your windshield that's a different animal I haven't had to deal with.

Question on the Service History logged on Toyota.com: I am careful to log every change to my vehicles on this database, even the most trivial things like wiper blades. This is mostly for my benefit, as it's the most convenient way to keep track. But, when you remove a vehicle from your account, there is a prompt to Remove all the Service History entries. Does this mean that the next person that adds this vehicle won't see your records? Are they lost for good? Can a dealer see them?

That's pretty stupid if they are all deleted, so the next owner can't see them.

SQOD (May 26, 2018)

I noticed today while sitting bored in traffic that my headlight washers are not working. No spray, leaking washer fluid, etc. nothing.

I tested them when I bought the truck, they worked then. I've also used them 2-3 times since my purchase roughly six months ago.

So, my question is - am I doing something wrong, or overlooking a simple fix? Does the headlamp washer assembly utilize a separate reservoir of washer fluid? I assume that the pump's fuse is located under the hood in the accessory junction box - that's the first thing I'm going to check when the LC is back in my driveway.

My wife is currently driving the LC this evening as she has class and I'm at the house drinking a frosty IPA, mulling this over.

Cheers ,

In my experience the headlights need to be on to use the washer.

I'll check that out.

Guess that's why this thread is titled SQOD...

Bingo. That was it...

@Dan Lee I just replaced the LX570 20" 285/50 with 18" 275/65 on Tundra basic five spoke cast aluminums. They came with some mostly worn Michelin ATX which I'm in the process of wearing out. I also got another identical set with lots of corrosion and some mid-worn Wrangler Mud-terrains to work on in my spare time (they were cheap). Aside from the fact that Tundra TPMS doesn't match TLC/LX, they bolt right up and you'll be glad you did.

I did like the black/machined more recent Tundra 18" rims. I didn't go that way because they were 2x as much (granted with sometimes better tread included), and because they weigh a couple pounds more each. I think cost played more into it than weight.

Beware the shiny 5 wide spoke Tundra Rims, they're pretty, but weigh almost as much as the Tundra steelies. Might as well just get the steelies if you're gonna add that much weight.

Like @grinchy said, the vanilla Tundra wheels are plentiful. I lucked out and got a set of SR5 wheels for $50 locally. I rattle-canned them gray and won’t feel bad if I tear them up.

$50? That's amazing. I haven't seen anything like that!
