Alright, here's a stupid one, the navigation system at night comes on with a white background, super bright and bad for night vision. I've had garmins in the past that would automatically turn the background on the gps screen black to help night vision. I thought this would be an auto feature on a 2013 LC, is there a setting I'm missing?

It can be set to auto. I think its a choice after you hit the display button...

If the dash brightness knob is set to max the Nav unit will stay in day mode.
 
I read here that you can upgrade the brakes on a 2013 LC with the latest Tunra brakes. Is that something I just go to the dealer and request?
 
Ok, I can't find it....Does anyone know where to find the engine hours?

You mean like on a boat or plane? Total running hours?

If that number exists, it would provide useful info for buying used...because you could easily figure out the average MPH it was driven over its lifetime--useful for determining whether it was primarily highway driven, or otherwise.

Yeah, does that seem silly? I'm curious how many miles to engine hours I have.

That is actually what I was thinking. I commute short trips with the engine remaining idle for a good portion of it. If we have failures of components such as radiator, alternator and so on, which we've correlated to miles, then maybe we can correlate to engine hours as well.

I felt this ranked for SQoD =D
 
Big time stupid question here. On the row of buttons below screen, there are a few that correspond to climate control (auto, fresh vs. recirculated, etc.) There is a button that looks like air is obstructed before flowing to cabin. What in the hell does that mean? Thanks!

That's your in-cabin air filter mode (not sure of the official name) but is good when stuck behind a diesel truck and you want to keep most of the smell out of your car.

Huh. I was under the impression that all the air went through the cabin filter (I just replaced filter last week). Seems to me that I should keep that button pushed - why would I not want the filter used?

The big question is how that differs from just the normal recirc button. There's only one cabin filter. Unless it recircs it back through the filter twice.

I believe it differs in that normal recirculation is not routed the the filter. The button activates a temporary reroute...which makes sense since there is no need to continuously re-filter the same recirculated air for dust/pollen etc.
