Agree with Willy. Think about how many times the mirrors would cycle over the life of the truck. Only so long before they wear out and need to be replaced. They are expensive too. About $500 for the assembly.
That said, I still wish I had the option to turn the feature on and off in settings. I just think it's cool see the truck/car come to life as you approach it.

NEW STUPID QUESTION:

On my 100, my side mirrors are heated, which is very nice after a good snow fall or freezing rain. I can not find a selection for this on my LX. Did the 200s lose this feature?

well until then just remember it keeps 6 12oz bottles of beer ice cold in your cool box.

I think the mirror defrosters come on when you push the button for the rear defroster.

@mark71 - Mine do not. I have to scrape them clear. Maybe a defect?

I've popped the hood more than once going for the fuel door:) I agree with ya on the heated steering wheel button, and for that matter all of the buttons down there. Check out the 2016, they fixed all of them by relocating them in the center of the rig by the shifter, way better! Only wished they had fixed it sooner:bang:View attachment 1203464

Oh that's much nicer setup :crybaby:

It must be a USDM/stupid America law thing much like the fact that we can't have laser headlights or auto/adaptive high beams in America. A lot of cars have the auto fold feature from the factory in Europe and Asia. I programmed it back into my BMW M4's DME.

Both my Newer Mercs have auto adaptive high beams :)

the less items with moving motors on your every day car the less your wallet will be hit. how pampered do you really want to be - its s truck guys
Agree, but the button placement before 2016 wasn't very well thought out.

Only in the summer time since it runs off the AC which to me is pretty lame. I don't always want the AC running. Now granted, it's less likely to break since it doesn't have a separate refrigeration unit that can go bad and would be expensive to fix or replace

Good question because I don't know if my 14' has it or not but it I haven't had an issue yet and I have a foot of snow outside and it's been really cold. Maybe I do and it must work.

I think the BMW version is different somehow, not sure how. I know I had to reprogram that into my M4 also. I used it once, said "Neat" then never used it again since fellow American drivers didn't understand my high beams would adjust around their car and not blind them, so they flashed their highs at me.

it does have it, just not as affective as it was on my Tundra. comes on with the rear defrost button. some have speculated that the coating on the mirrors may prohibit it from getting as hot as mirrors without the coating(just speculation I heard from someone) long story short hit the rear defrost and it will melt, just takes a minute...

Not true. It works with the heat on in the cabin and blows cold air in the cool box - hence cool box

Thanks for the correction. I thought once I turned the cool box on, it would automatically turn on the A.C. I guess I should go test it today. If that's the case....ummm, my bad.

Did want you rolling around with warm beers.

you can have the AC on and the heat cranked up(you're warm, beers are ice cold), doesn't affect the heat at all, in fact I've found the windows don't fog up as much with the AC on, just my 2 cents...

Ok, it does as advirtised. AC on and my truck was nice and warm while my sunglasses and other contents in cool box were cold :D

But still, it does not make ice for my vodka soda. Really lame.

Well, mine must not be working. I had time to finish shoveling off the drive this morning and they were still not clear, even though my windshield was completely clear and my rear was fully melted.

I'll have to look into this more.
