What is a Diff drop?

When you install a lift your front diff gets lifted up as well making the cv run at a different angle than it was meant. I've installed the diff drop but the more knowledgeable members here say there's no reason to need one on a 200 as tge cv angles aren't that bad once lifted

Stopped in my local audio shop today to see what the cost and or parts needed would be for an upgraded sound system. I was told our (LC's) have a proprietary system ( speakers, amp) and that you cannot simply switch out speakers without changing our amp due to the low watts they (OE speakers and amp) pull.

If you did just address the speakers only then the new sound level would be half of the volume we experience, now, at stock because the after market speaker world makes speakers that pull / need more watts
Than our OE system can push. If I have not used the correct audio industry terms pardon me.

Not saying OE is bad or anything, I just wanted to look into alternatives.

Anyone else on here moved forward with upgrading their setup?
What did you do?

I swapped speakers in my Sequoia Limited and there is some truth to what sales guy said.

It has something to do with Ohms.

I don't know about the LC audio system. My previous ride was an '03 4Runner with Toyota's JBL system. It had a similar issue. The quotes I got from the stereo shop were stupidly expensive, so I never did anything to it (which was a good thing, as I dumped it less than a year later).

Yes the quote I received for mid level JL audio speakers and an amp (brand ?) with enough channels to push all 9 speakers plus the sub including our center stack one was around $2100 including the install.
I'd rather spend that $ on gears or a locker.

What does ECT Power / 2nd Start do?

2nd lets you start from a stop in 2nd gear rather than first gear... and ECT Power changes the gear shift points...allowing higher RPMs before your cruiser shifts up a gear...so that you accelerate more quickly at the expense of burning more fuel.

2nd start also allows you to take your foot off the gas and or brake without rolling backwards while on an incline.
Used it Ouray a bunch.

It's actually a 24.6 gallon tank (93 liters).

My tank usually has more than 5 gallons when the light comes on...more than 4 when I hit the "E..."

This has been discussed here before, and the general consensus is that the 200 gives you AMPLE warning, and considerable time to keep driving prior to true empty. This is kind of important, considering how THIRSTY these beasts are...

I don't know, but I noticed from the photo that your Oil Maintenance message is on your screen.

If you don't know how to reset that annoying message...follow these steps:

-With engine running, hit odo button until you are on Trip A
-Hit engine Start/Stop button to turn off.
-Keep foot off brake pedal (so engine does not start) and press the START button...while continuing to hold down the odo/trip.
-Continue pressing/holding the odo/trip button until the dash display tells you it has reset (about 5 seconds after start).

Last week my wife's GL showed me 75 mile Range.
Knowing how generous the LC is I thought the 50 mile trip home wouldn't be an issue. It was.
Thank god for good neighbors who don't mind making a diesel run for you.
The LC seems to switch from fuel to love when the light comes on.

Mine may be half a needle higher...yours looks great. I picked up my '13 LC in late August with temps in the high-90's / low-100's) and coolant gauge reading was the same.

Mine is about 4-5 gallons left when E goes on.

I am travelling right now and just verified twice that, for my 2011, very close to 5 gallons remains when the computer estimates zero range and the fuel warning light goes on.
I don't know how many of those 5 gallons can actually be used, but even at 12 mpg, I assume I have at least 48 miles to find a gas station.

I think that counting on that last 5 gallons means that at some point, you will be walking. This is especially true on slopes, as that little bit of gas can move away from the suction point and cause your vehicle to starve. I would suggest COUNTING on maybe half the range of those last 5 gallons to be safe.

OR if you like walking (especially with your wife), give it a try and see how far you get before it dies.

that's what i was wondering because if you use the display to show range, mine usually indicates 8 miles.... On my 80 series i have pushed the light to a good 20 miles or so.
