LX 570 owners...what's in your cookie holder? (powered 3rd row sear switch?)

I'm not sure what is there on the LX. I'll have to take a look later today. I DO KNOW that it is not the switch console for the 3rd row seats. That is much bigger, located behind the 3rd row on the right hand side, and is square / rectangular. If I remember correctly, it is about 4"X4" in size, so definitely not this little guy. I'll take a look at lunch to see and post back up.

Isn't that one of the locking point for the third row seat?

So, I walked out to my 2010 LX to see what was exactly there...

As to the 3rd row locking mechanism, no, this is not it. That is much higher and more towards the rear of the vehicle.

What did I find? That mine is EXACTLY the same as the original photo... but grey.

I always assumed they were a blank insert for US spec vehicles. I thought that maybe euro spec or oceana spec got 12V sockets there. Just a wild guess.

It's a bottle opener

That funky piece is what's left of an ill-fated mini-van-type vacuum cleaner
hose connection for US market Mall Cruisers...

Also lost with it... -Flip down diaper-change-tables...which were were scrapped...
...later re-deployed as those monster video screens in the 2016s... :rimshot:;)

CodyAustin was probably right - a temp sensor. As I was connecting a D-Ring, I pulled it out accidentally. It has two wires connected to it and is certainly not affixed tightly enough to be even a light tie-down. Don't waste your time.

I've got one on each side of my '13 LC. If you know (or remember) the wire colors, I can probably find out what they are. Temp sensors sounds reasonable.

Thanks Steve. Red and green.
They're "room temperature sensors", one on each side, for the rear heating and a/c. Check...GSIC - Global Service Information Center

Which brings to mind a couple of thoughts...

Save the GSIC link above, make it a permanent tab on your web browser. Toyota decided to stop publishing shop manuals after the 2010 set of 4 volumes (a bit north of $1K)/The only printed material for a '13 is the Electric Wiring Diagram manual (pushing $300). I've got a 2-week TIS guest pass I'll play with next week. TIS is pricey if you're used to printed manuals, but far cheaper than local Toyota / Lexus dealers and indy shops.

Does anybody out there have experience with All Data and Toyota vehicles?

Thanks! I think "bottle opener" was the best of the rest though!
I've used TIS quite a bit. I don't prefer a laptop in the garage, so I typically copy and paste into a word doc, save, and then print when necessary and take the paper into the garage for reference. When I got the 570 last month I bought the shortest TIS subscription and saved the procedures I would need soonest, including the third row removal, and brake and fluids service procedures.

That's my plan exactly. A macbook pro in the garage is an accident waiting to happen. I'm doing a similar thing now from the GSIC website...copy and paste into MS Word, print and stick in a binder.

Questions of the day…

1. Can the order of the 5 tires in the TPMS display be changed?

2. Can the driver seat be programmed so that it slides all the way back when the engine is cut off?

1. No. It is frustrating not knowing which tire needs attention without checking each one. To partly alleviate the problem, I always inflate my spare to max rated inflation pressure and reset the TPMS to recognize this pressure as normal. With the spare pressure significantly higher than the other 4 tires, it is easy to see on the display which one is the spare. At least I only have to check 4 tires to find the problem, or immediately recognize the spare as the problem.

2. Don't know. My Driver's seat is always all the way back, and could use another inch or two :(
