Ahhh, the sweet sound of progress!

Oh yeah.....it was getting pretty depressing there for a while. Just nothing was happening. In order to actually get it out of the shop, I only need to get the gas pedal situated....I found a really cool adaptor for a Lokar pedal, hopefully....I will have that set up in the next week or so.

They promise me that It will drive and have working tail lights....mau just have to go for a spin....

Then off to Keldermans to have the roll bar done!

Finally....the FJ40 is home (at least for the time being). I was able to spend a bit of time fitting the doors and hood. Also a little washing was in order....2 years of garage dust scum and stink were pointed out by my 8 year old daughter...in particular the smell. To quote my daughter..."I don't think that's new car smell Dad".

A clean rig deserves some pictures outside

A short drive proves that this would be a whole lot easier if I put the seats in

Looking good!

Just for fun...

A few pictures of the seats in, little passengers rear seat (sitting on Springtail Drawer syastem and stock roll bar. All temporary.

The FJ40 will go to Keldermans this week to have the MT roll bar welded up and fitted.

Lookin' good Doc! Keep us posted. I like that front bumper.

I love all of the engineering and fitment work you did for me on those seat mounts. I have been pondering a 28-gallon tank for months and am just ordering it now. I already have Corbeau seats and the flat Coubeau sliders in my 40 on stock mounts currently. So, can I buy a copy of the complete seat mount set up from you? That would be so awesome. I was going to have a set-up fabricated from scratch but this will save a bunch of money and time.

Regards,
Rob

Thanks!

Drop me an email at springtailsolutions@gmail.com and we can hook you up. I am a little worried about how much it cost to ship to AK...each seats kit runs about 15 pounds and $165.79. I will probably need to get you a USPS quote for best price??

There may be a little wait, I do not always keep all of the components in stock.

Thanks a lot, sent you an email. That's a really sweet looking 40 by the way.
It looks like you do fantastic work.

Hey Doc, what is that seat you have on the back? Do you have a picture that shows how close it is to the wheel wells?

I'm on the hunt for something that fills the whole space back there so I can get both my kids on with their car seats! I tried one from a jeep but it was only 36" wide wile the space is 39" 1/2.

This is my first post on MUD, and damn what a nice Cruiser you built there wow. Quality man.

Looking good! What will you do with the stock roll bar?

It will go in the pile of all my other FJ40 stuff....probably to sell later

Thanks, I am honored! Now stop lurking and get out there

Hindsight, FYI, if those are the OME greasable shackles you have the anti-inversion plate installed backwwards. The top pointed side is supposed to point towards the spring, not away.
