I rewired everything. You can't re-use 18 year old wires The wireing really wasn't that much work.

did you do that yourself? have you tried sitting on the seat above it? how about heat, there can't be much circulation down there.

I was going to comment on this. I had my amp mounted on the same location, but on the floor, and after a few hours, it would get too hot and cut off. Maybe yours is slimmer, gets more circulation? Mine's an ancient Yamaha model that's survived a catastrophic Cruiser rollover at high speed (three guys in the hospital, one of them in the ICU) and mutliple deep river crossings....

I just put in a new front speakers in the front doors of my 60. I used 5 1/4 panasonics and have no issues what so ever.

I know this was a long time ago and you may not remember - did you have to use any spacers or did you just whack them in?
