Well finally got around to fixing my steering system. Sent all my stuff to West Texas off-road. The rebuilt everything and sent ram assist parts. When they sent it back they called and said I needed to clean or get new hoses and cooler because the parts I sent had metal pieces in them. So everything will be replaced.
Started on it yesterday. Fixed my alignment issue on the pump. View attachment 1098425
Had to weld a 1/4 in piece of steel to the bracket and grinned it down at a angle so it lines up much better now.
Then went to install the gear box. And I noticed this...View attachment 1098428I thought this is bad...
So now I will be redoing my steering shaft. Can't replace that piece because it's all welded on when PO did the conversion. View attachment 1098429

Question? Should I replace that shaft with a telescoping one? Or just leave it solid. I will be cutting it off when it comes out of the firewall and going new stuff to the gear box.
I think I need to build a F-toy to keep up with that bunch. Something I can beat the piss out of.
Such a beautiful 40.
Please please please don't cut it up like Jrob and WCT did......
You mean like in a few weeks?I will bring it next time I'm down that way.
