This is a tool hoarding club, with a toyota problem

tools are not in short supply in this club

good ole mechanical muscle, power muscle or flame muscle this club should have you covered to get anything off.

If you don't like tools, raise your hand :)

Go ahead and order the Napa remans now. It might take a day or two to get them.

MAN!! This is not a club, its an amazing community, and never stop amazing me how generous you all are.

And when you pick up the napa calipers make sure its a pass and a driver side of each. Look in the box. Not at the part number on outside like they do. Twice now they stuck me with two pass sides.

Doing rotors adds expense for the front, as you have to disassemble the hub and bearing assembly to get to them.

Since you're disassembling the hubs, you may as well do the bearings while you're at it. At that that point, why not pull the birfs and take a peak, and since the birfs are out, maybe this is the time to go ahead and put in that locker and do the re-gear you were thinking about. Hell, the driveshaft is off, check those joints as well, and how are the seals and bearings in the transfer case, and......

......and so THAT's how I ended up with this nice new head liner.

I think the fumes were getting to you..

At Napa now, and getting 4 rotors, 4 calipers, and hoses. Front outer and right inner hoses available. Will head to Fred Anderson for others.

Maybe I should have been more clear in my post earlier. Do your knuckles need to be redone? Birfields click at all?

Since you (we're) going to be tearing the front end apart, you should also invest in a knuckle rebuild kit. We can take the hub off, repack the bearings, and put everything back together as-is, but it would be nearly the same amount of work to put new bearings and seals in.

No detectable clicking but the truck. The birfs do look gunked up with dirt and grime. I have no problem making the investment. Is that best to get from Napa or Toyota?

Toyota for the knuckle rebuild kit. I would also go Toyota for the wheel bearings, if you intend to replace those as well.

I sure hope you are utilizing parts.fredandersontoyota.com for ordering the parts at a greatly reduced price!

Section A assumes you will be replacing wheel bearings and
adjusting the knuckle bearing preload. The inner axle will be
separated from the birfield for cleaning so you will need the
C-clip. The birfields will be swapped from left to right side to
extend their life. A hub socket is in the list of parts because
this is intended to be for the person that wants a complete kit.
