Are we sure it's an M10 tap? The bolt head is 17mm, won't we be looking at an M14 tap?

The part number for the banjo bolt (that fits into the stripped out hole) is 44331-50070. I'll get a picture in some hours.

Here is the bolt, the head is 17mm, not sure about the threaded part.

That's a Superleggera/GT3RS bolt. Mass removal to save weight

Tapping it in place sucks because you can't ensure you remove all the metal flakies and you don't want them in the spool valve.

Remove the rack.

Dun dun dunnnnn, yeah I thought about that but idk, I think maybe we'll wing that. We're going to bring someone who (fully) knows what they're doing tomorrow to tap the hole. Maybe they'll have a magnet/magnetic tap. Or maybe we can magnetize their tap.

Okay, the guy came by today and apparently it's an M16 × 1.5 tap. Sadly there was no space to turn the tap well so I might end up pulling the steering rack. Any good guides on how to do that?

Well as my ****ing luck would have it, the dumb **** that we called to tap the hole was tapping the wrong ****ing hole. I stopped holding the hand of this grown man (whilst he's doing a job that he's meant to be doing for a living) for 2 seconds and he completely screwed up, and then he didn't realize his error at all and stormed off in anger because we "wasted his time". Now it's 3 hours later and I just tried my hand at tapping the hole and it's actually super easy and there is plenty space to tap the actual hole. Sadly we don't have the correct tap (we have a wide mouth tap but we need a narrow mouth tap so that I can re-thread the top of the hole) and we're about going out to find it. This is exactly why I love this site (and all you legends on it), and this is (hopefully) going to re-iterate to my dad the value of DIY work. I explained to the guy where the hole was, I fricking scraped my hand on the frame (and cut myself) just to show him where it was, and he still messed it up smh. Well I'm ranting now, will update. Dare I say...cheers?
