Okay, sooooo, I have a 2000 LX470, the car drives perfect, everything works, AHC, A/C, engine, the works, however it has some electrical problem of sorts. When driving, especially with headlights of any type on, if I step on the brake even a little the car engine RPM goes really low like it's gonna stall, the headlamps dim, and the A/C goes off, sometimes (when still holding the brake) the car recovers without completely stalling, other times it goes off completely and a restart is needed. So that happened for some weeks, I only usually drive the car on Sundays so it was manageable, but then few Sundays ago, I go to start the car, and I open the car door and the door dash light is working, security light can be seen blinking, door light is working perfectly, put key in ignition and the melodic beeping sound can be heard loudly and rhythmically, then turn the key to start, and nothing, just a loud click and some dash lights can be seen faintly flashing. I pop the hood, go to the battery, it looks functional, get a meter, it reads 12V as it should, twist the battery terminals to see if they loose, but they tighter than tire nuts, so i go back to start the car, and it starts like nothing is wrong. So i'm just like "huh, weird flex, but ok" and i go. Eventually it happens again, on the road this time. I brake, car stalls and dies. Put gear in P, try to restart, dash lights are dim, loud click, no start. Go and do the touch terminal ritual and it starts up. Anyone know what could be the problem? I think it's note-worthy to point out that the black little box attached to the positive terminal has a broken clip on top-right corner and hangs open but it's been like that from time immemorial. Also, a similar problem to this happened on this car a year ago, mechanic changed a fuse in the passenger side fuse box that seemed to solve the issue but i'm not so sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!
