Is there any adjustment on the strut to make it open faster?

@Rics4rnr I installed this setup on my tailgate 12/3/22 and it's loosened up since then, becoming quicker to open and easier to close. I've also gotten used to it which helps. After you've had this in place for a while you'll remember to start the tailgate dropping as soon as you can in the load in/out process.

Well bugger.
Sorted it out. There is enough metal to drill the hole in the correct place.
Drilled a hole in the Template washer and used a 6mm Rivnut and a suitable bolt to make sure that things will be rock solid. More pictures to come. Works really good and isn’t too slow.

Tried to install this, messed about for a few hours but never found a setup that allowed the cable to pass between the strut and body/taillight screw. The cable seems overly large for the loads or the top screw is too short to space the strut far enough out from the body.
Anyone want what is left? I'm over it...send coffee $ to cover the postage before it goes in the trash. EDIT: Gone, good luck with it.pending shipment to its new home.

I feel you're frustrations, as I too started the installation process then abandoned it last year. I may pick it back up again, even though my hole is not in the correct spot.

I also looked at installing it and I wasn't quite clear where to drill the hole. Stopped...decided I will install later when I have more time. That was months ago.

I already have the kit nicely packaged as seen in the thread above... and I put it in my "Forget-About-It" drawer. It just siting there for almost 2 years now....

Mine has also been sitting for a couple of years now . . .
