So you wanted an overhead switch panel?

That's about the nicest looking switch panel and location for a switch panel I've seen yet. Need to figure out something like this for the sun glass holder in later year models. Good job on this install!

Very nice post and great follow through!

My 02 LC has Homelink

Indeed. Just looked up the sales brochure over at ToyotaReference and 2002 was the first year. So does the opener pocket just have a square plug in the hole? Is the pocket vacant or did they add HomeLink electronics into that space?

The plate is super cheap. Like $12. The switches with custom covers are about $16 each. So about $110 plus wiring, etc. You can get a 5 relay box from a member here for $95. So you'd be somewhere north of $250 all-in. The SPOD is $363.

This may work nicely inside the sunglass holder for a clean look...
Switch Pros - Home
Damn that switch panel is almost $500 including shipping...While you could make a very clean install with that, if I were looking to spend that much on a switch panel I would go with the S-POD. But of course I'm cheap so I would take @OregonLC advice and build my own harnesses and then use the money I saved to pay for the lockers/lights/winches/etc. that those switches would operate.

Just finished mine up. I used blue sea switch loving it. I used 16 ga. Some of the switches are fused and running power.

I had to get creative with the wiring

bring up old news, but has anyone done this switch panel with the homelink. I have an 06 land cruiser and looking at doing it!

I put a 07 upper console with the homelink in my 99. I was going to do a switch panel on it, but I liked the sunglass holder too much. It will only work if you can get the depth of the switch panel thin enough. On the earlier upper consoles you can cut the inside to create more room, but not on the newer homelink versions.

I'm working on one. Maybe I'll have it done in a couple of weeks.

Does anyone make LED lights that fit into a rocker switch slot? I'm thinking this would be slick with 4 switches in the middle and two red map lights on the outside.
