I wheeled ori's, the original ones, for the last 4 years or more on the front of my crawler I sold last week. The truck weighed 6500lbs with me, a full cooler and a full tank of fuel, with a 50-50 weight bias. So trail ready with another adult, 2 kids and a yellow lab it was even more. I loved the ori's and beat on them pretty hard with never a problem. I would not hesitate to run them again in any non racing application. If you look in my 1994 5.3l 4l60 swap thread there are a few pics at the top. If not I can add some off of my computer later.
I would like to run the ORI's, but the weight limit stuff is something I'll adhere to. I understand the reasoning behind the limits and would rather invest in something that will give me a large safety factor rather than being at the limits of a part.
After reading into your build thread I'm hoping NWF gets their stuff together on the 80 series black box. I'd really like to keep the original engine and transmission and run the black box to a 205, but it doesn't look like development is getting anywhere on the NWF doubler.

When I ordered mine they told me the limits were for sprung weight also, so axles, tires & wheels didn't matter.
A black box or off road design magnum would be great. My 241/205 worked great, no complaints at all. It does become long under neath though. I have a whole build thread over on pirate when I built the doubler. The 205's are a great t-case but so heavy! It seems like you're building my old truck just with an 80 body! Should make for a fun rig.

Yeah it's finished at the "soft-core" stage, the "hardcore" stage hasn't begun. Luckily you decided to sell it while it's still in one piece and not a million :)

Wow what a great build thread... thanks for the share.
Have you done any other builds?
