A new date for another snow run was announced at the meeting so I figure it's time for a new thread. Post up here if you think you want to go. Maybe we'll get some more fresh snow to play with :bounce: Another buddy of mine from Chicago may fly up and ride with me if we have a decent turn out.

I get off work at 9am that morning. if we can start late, I'll try to make it. Kian will likely have weigh in for a tournament that evening, so my family will be a maybe.

I'm out. Doing a birf job at my house that day. Anyone not going on the snow run is welcome to the peanut gallery at my house that day. Bring yer own beers.

;)

Irony!
Last week the goal was to get stuck.
Today, with girlfriend and four kids getting stuck was the last thing on my mind.
Especially in Breckinridge.
But there we were, right side tires buried in a bottomless snow bank, left side on icy pavement.
Tilted at such an angle that the axles were high centered on the pavement edge.
How embarrassing - big snow tires....lockers, winch...and we were not going anywhere.
Nothing to winch to, very little traffic on this road in an industrial park road on a Sunday, holiday weekend.
Only hope was to jack up the low side with the high lift and push it back on the road - a vain hope given the angle and the lack of support for the jack. But I had to try something.
Of course the jack was stiff and frozen - so I pissed on it - that worked.
Aboutnthis time a guy came along with a pickup and yanked us out.
Only to discover the passenger door was caved in from the weight of the vehicle resting on it against the snow. Good grief!

Pics?

I have the mental image of the hi-lift thawing indelibly burned in my brain so please don't send pics of that... unless, of course, the gf helped warm up the jack.

another classic thread hijack from the Fish!

Oh, sorry Shawn. There are TWO "Snow Run" threads.
I got confused.
Did not mean to cause any offense or step on any toes.

Ya, be careful Juane. You know how sensitive we are (NOT!).

That's a hilarious story! Glad that it all worked out OK, with the possible exception of your caved-in passenger door. As long as it's not impeding the function of the window, we will deem it "cosmetic." There, now don't you feel better already?!?

i'm a strong maybe...

hope we don't have to call it the "wish there was snow" run. but we could make one of those fun too i suppose.

I'm working on making it...

1. Raise exhaust... done
2. Straighten skid plate and install
3. Install mechanical gauges from Kickass Stuff For Your 40-Series
4. Install front OEM lift... rear is done
5. Radio...

Should I buy snow chains?

Yeah, you should buy chains. It's better to have them and not use IMHO.

Has been high forties all week in the Jemez. Mud at my house at 8000 ft. Not bad in the morning until it thaws. Got no snow last night, but looks like a possibility this weekend.

Does not look good right now

oh, and Juane, now that you posted the story here, we need pics of the caved in door.
