This is so worth it! Did the tour probably 20 years ago wish I was free to do it again
 
I have walked in and seen things but never had the actual tour.

Oh how I wish I can get a tour of the massive telescope/observatory on top of the mountain nearby.
 
Watching the VLA crew reconfigure the array is impressive.
 
We oughta come up with a place to camp as a group. Water canyon FS CG isn't too far away, and of course the Gila is nearby. I'm open to ideas!

The tickets are free so grab them up!

I believe one time when I was wizzing by that facility, the gigantic antennas were moving super slowly. I wished I was on top of a mountain looking down with a pair of binoculars.
 
It's very cool! Wish I was able to go with y'all, I enjoyed my time when I visited! Hopefully they'll talk a bit about the ngVLA as well, you should definitely ask about it!

copy that. I'm trying to figure out where to go camping Fri night and not be too far away from VLA. I've stayed here before so I'll aim for it again 34.07847, -107.14598.

Should we aim to meet at VLA at 11am sat morning?

Yeah 11am works for us. We are planning on getting there late Friday afternoon. Checking in and then heading to saloon.

We are in that area till Monday AM when we head back to SoAz.

I’ll get with you Friday and check in and see where you are at.

I'm heading out Friday as well, but I'm going to have dinner in Socorro first with my daughter. What time are you leaving ABQ,maybe we can meet up on the way to camp
