Non-Raleigh shot.... around 7am this morning...

The boys and I have been out playing in this all day. Wish this storm was on par with the one in 2000 because for us its never enough snow.

Driving the GX in the snow takes all of the fun out of it (probably the same with 100 Series). Driving around today, my ABS kicked in once, and traction control once. Otherwise, it was like driving any other day, except all the idiots were home.

This heavy, wet snow is the same as the Lake Effect snow we used to get up in Cleveland (from Nov through March). Not a fan, but it is nice to have any snow...

I dropped the air pressure on the tires to 18psi for a quick trip to Sheetz and the Walmarts. The truck did fantastic and I only lost traction swinging the wheel wildly back and forth. Jacob had lots of fun.

That's quite a bit of snow... most I ever got in Charlotte was 9 inches a few years back.

Oh and the trick is to stock up on a good milk stout

I ran Brit back into work early this morning. The plow trucks came by some time over night. They cleared the snow, but left a thick layer of ice on the road. This should make things interesting as people venture out.

I made a quick stop for a picture by the Old Well at UNC.

In SW Durham, the main streets are plowed but there is like a 1/4" sheet of ice / hard packed snow. The neighborhoods roads are still in bad shape. GF is on her way to Atlanta and hopefully her connection isn't canceled into RDU. On the plus Duke/UNC are closed today.

This is a lot of snow. Makes for some beautiful pictures imo.

Looks like we ended up with about 7 inches at the house. Still recovering from bronchitis so I have not been able to "play" much. Although I ran a few calls for Overt last night and this AM before work transporting hospital staff at Baptist. Really nasty near the house though. Nothing but 3 inches of hard pack ice. Enjoying everyones pics. :)

This does make for a nice quiet day at the office though so I'll take it.

We got a lil over 9...must be that lake effect snow off of lake townsend. LOL. My hospital employee neighbors got a tundra last year, so i didnt get a call to take them to work. I'll take the break today.

Ice on road = Drive faster + No following distance

hahah - too true - I saw it on the news this morning - a tractor trailer was on the road and it jack knifed in front of the news crew setting up for a shot - there was a Toyota 4Runner? behind it going the same speed - couldn't stop so it went off the road and stopped right past it - but it was in someone's yard at a bad angle, they weren't getting out on their own......
