Put the blower motor back together, not alot to it, just made sure everything went back the way I took it apart.

I polished the shaft with emery colth and oiled the bushing felts with some 3 in 1 oil, as they were dried out. Make sure to replace the thin shims on each end of the shaft. One metal and three plastic ones on each end. They are concave and face away from the armature.

The brushes were good and the armature wasn't burnt or corroded, so good to go.

The three rubber mounting feet, we talked about were replaced with grommets. worked good. The feet are actually three pieces, rubber on top and bottom with a metal sleeve in betwwen. I'll have to cut the sleeve down a tad, but will work just fine.

The fan will get cad. plated and the rest of the housing is getting painted.

What a difference alittle tinkering does.

Some fun pictures, while I wait for the fan to be plated.

I had to extend the ground wire, as it grounds to the tub floor and there ain't no way it's getting through all the stuff on the floor.

I made some rubber pads for the mounting feet, just because and made some new felt pads for the heater core, which cleaned up good. After flushing it, I sprayed it with some Alum. engine paint.

Put the cap back together and spot welded the little tab together, it's the one right in front. The cap looks like someone tap danced on it, so I hammered some of the dents out and sprayed with Rust-oleum Hammered Nickel.

Put it on the shelf and move on. :)

Thanks Guys!

Now I hope, it will fit under the Corbeau seat frame. I'll have to do some cutting and welding, to make it work.

Chris,

I sprayed the coils with an old can of Alum. engine paint. It's a high temp. paint.

3 or 4 inches of snow and we all stop here. After chores, I spent the day fixing my wiper brackets.

As you know half of them were cracked or broken, so I went with the 16 ga. metal plates and sandwiched the plastic. Epoxied all three pieces together and painted! I was worried the alum. was too thick.

Here's a stock one on the left and the modified one on the right. Not the prettiest job, but should be good to go.

Well, yes and no. They look to be double stacked and mine aren't. I know my set didn't look like the one that is on E-Bay. I had to work on some of mine to fit the different type body holes, if that makes sense.

I did use a 1" body lift on top the body mounts.

Here's some of the mods., I had to do, to get them to fit the different holes.

This is why I'm not getting this finished, any time soon. I spent the last two days running the vent lines and the air lines for the air lockers. Still not done, but have a good grip on it.

Finished bolting down the air compressor, which took a day of measuring and remeasuring, before I drilled the holes. I really hate to drill holes in the body.

I got the compressor tucked in as far as you could, against the rear panel and still be able to drain the water out of the tank. Later on, I want to build a drawer system and don't the compressor in the way.

I'm getting a lot of little things finished while waiting on the painter, who's MIA for two weeks. I might be looking for a new guy.

I hate to be a nay-sayer because you work is stellar but... You are really going to have the compressor inside the truck? I'd want that thing tucked up underneath so it was not visible but even more important, so I didn't have to hear it... Sorry to be negative.

Hey, that's not negative. There's really not a good place for it under the hood and having it mounted underneath, exposed to the elements, would ruin it in short order.

I thought about removing the tank and just mounting it underneath, but I might add another tank later on, under there, so it stays in the back.

As far as the noise goes, you have to think about how much it really runs. Air lockers don't use a lot of air and once you have the tank full, it will last along time. If I need the OBA, most likely I will be camping and out of the vehicle anyway.

The guys that use this make of compressor a lot, say it's not that loud. I guess I'll find out.

Now, telling me I'm not as good looking as I think, that would be negative! :)

I was just thinking about steaming up the windows with my wife and right at that moment the old compressor kicks on... I should have known you had thought it through though.

What about the compressor in the engine bay and the tank remote? Thanks for not taking it the wrong way as I really respect your level of excellence.

If I ever get lucky enough to steam up the windows, I'll be sure to turn the compressor off.

I did think about separating the two, but some advise against it, because of heat build up and water damage. It's one of those things, no right answer.

I got some parts back from the plater and got to put the wiper linkage together.

In order to get the arms plated, I had to remove the tiny rivets that hold the bushings together and that meant finding some new hardware. Stainless Steel 3m screws with SS locking nuts, man are they small. Everything went together good with a drop of low strength Locktite.

I used the dry type silicone spray as lubricant, so it doesn't build up any dust, etc. With the gearbox and motor renewed, I'm thinking there shouldn't be any problems with the wipers.

Next up, the new radiator and how I mounted it.
