March of 76What a great find. I love seeing these things come back to life.
Looks to be an early to mid-1976, same as mine.
Got the booster and master from City Racer. There’s a gasket listed in some parts diagrams between the master and booster. I wonder if it’s necessary...
Thanks. The body is good, for the most part, except where the hard top meets the cap and tub. Not looking forward to the metal work.Nice thread and great job rescuing the truck!
Ive been slowly collecting parts to get our 72 barn find truck going again all Toyota. It will have some newer stuff. Looks like the body is pretty solid on yours.
Looks like the center arm housing is shot
Holy cow! I’ll say!![]()
Yeah I did bench bleed mine. I will try pinching off the hoses. That’s a good idea. Thanks. Sorry about the hijack Skeet.EStein,
It’s a good idea to bench bleed your new mater cylinder before you install it on the truck. That way you are sure all of the air is out of the master first
in many cases the way the master cylinder is mounted on the vehicle makes it a bear to get all the air out of it
Also you can try pinching off all the brake hoses and see if your pedal feel improves.
Just be careful not to hurt the hoses. I use needle nose vise grips with rubber hose on the tips.
With your hoses pinched off you should have rock hard pedal with no travel.( a fluid will not compress, air does)
Sorry to chime in , but I thought this may help everyone
