Exiled said:Update: I remembered that I took the heat exchanger out before sending the Cruiser out to CO. Attached are a couple of pictures that show the size and general shape. it's 2.5" OD diameter copper pipe.
Also, I looked up in my files, the guy I bought it from back then is Dan Fosgett, but I have no idea if he's still building them.
HTH!

Well, I got my heat exchanger from a oceangoing junkyard in miami.. $25 for the exchanger. Built specifically for this purpose.. Almost exactly like Deckers one but I"m a cheapy type of guy..
I hooked up a shurflo washdown pump. Most shurflo pumps have a set PSI where they turn off. Hooked up to a watersaver showerhead which also has an on-off push button on the showerhead. Since I use the same showerhead at home I'm used to it.. They conserve water and it will feel like your getting more pressure and more whater when it's just coming out at a higher psi instead.
Run the heat thru the heatervalve section on the waterlines on the truck. That way you can adjust the flow thru the exchanger if needed by adjusting the temp in the cab.
HTH.. EC

Just curious, where do the boats use this? Is this part of their engine cooling by using fresh water from the lake/river/etc? Is it built similarly using copper pipes?
Also, is it a good idea to have a bypass around the heat exchanger for normal operation? This is to delay galvanic corrosion over time or buildup.
Thanks.

Like this one , that Paul Decker sells?tornadoalleycruiser said:I wish someone would make a shower/toilet enclosure similar to the OzTent setup that David Dearborn sells tho! It'd be nice to just throw it up in the air and it'd pop up done! I have a cheap on with poles that "SUCKS" really, takes way too long to setup.. Still lookign for a better solution for the tent..
