What mine looked like when I bought the rig.....
What it looks like now........
2x4 box steel that mounts to the rear sill at the OEM bumperette mounts. Had the pivot moved to the driver side so the tire would be out of the way and had a basket built to fit 2 jerry cans. Also had the hitch receiver put into the bumper instead of hanging below.

Heres mine, custom made by me. I actually have added some 5" KC lights recessed into the upper triangle areas since these pics. Yes its heavy but its designed to beable to bounce off rocks and trees. Its survived the rubicon 4 times so far without any problems. The rear winch is handy when needed.

no pic but i will describe what I had on my 42,
I started with a 6'' pipe and cut it in two pieces, Beveled at about 30 degrees to access the pintel hook centre, I then welded rounded end caps for the outside...
Then choped the top to have two lids ( one each side)
Fitted the rear tail lights inside with a divider
Tabs were added to lid tops for locks as now they have become mini - trunks
The left side was my 9-11 kit ... condoms , mikey of vodka, rye or such etc...
The right side was tool related including a grease gun for after trail use or during.
It looked great and shedule 40 pipe usually deters tail gaters ! lol
