I contimplateing selling one of me FJ's But the body is very rustes and i put a new floor in it when i bought it because it was rusted though,,

My question here would be if it would be wise to take the body off and prep the frame and motor for a rebuild and just sell it stripped and painted or keep the body on it and sell it looking like crap... the reason why I ask is because the frame is in PERFECT PERFECT shape for a rebuild and the motor has been rebuilt about 10 yrs ago and Trans case rebuilt this past summer this machine runs and drives great!!! BUT DOESNT LOOK SO GOOD.
I think I would be shooting myself in the foot to leave the body on it..

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

does not look that bad to me.
X2, worth more together.

It does not look like ****. It looks like a great candidate for a wheeler as is. It will sell for more complete.

How much are you thinking of getting for it?

the truck may look good in the picture but it does have quite a bit of rust in the bed ... it is VERY sturdy Very strong... but has some rust int the bed rails as well

floor is a piece of sheet metal cut and welded to fit..

all in all its fun but i dont know what it is worth.... any suggestions? :steer:

Sell it as is on craigslist. Eventually someone will buy it when the price is right. If you are looking for how much it is worth were going to need a lot of info on what it comes with and has in it. Good luck! Mark:beer:

Just because a seller says it's a "strong runner" doesn't mean anything to the buyer. Let them drive it and they'll KNOW it's mechanically sound. Keep it together and sell as is.
Slow Poke

I'd keep it together.

Is that a PTO winch? You might want to hang onto that. Those babies (complete / working) are expensive just by themselves.

I agree with this, also many folks may be turned off if you replace that floor with a sheet of metal. You could always offer the new owner the services of repairing the floor for a price...

Ya i didnt want to replace the floor but it was so bad that I dould fall through it so somthin had to be done... with the floor rusted like that it also left the gas tank vounerable to everything...
its not as nice now but at least it is usable .... I bought this truck because it was exelent from the frame down the only bad thing was the body.

as far as the winch .. I have all of the working parts for this one it just needs rebuilt ... shoot I also have another one that I have been triing to get rid of for the past 2 yrs.. but everyone wants me to give it to them ... I thought they were worth alot ... untill I tried to sell it.... I couldnt even get 500.00 for it!

factory pto is a good winch a lot of people have em laying around because they dont bring those big bucks. and on the trail electric is easier to use and easier to install .could be a good selling point though good luck
