Man it’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. Kind of sad ending to my land cruiser life. I remember when I got my 55 almost 25 years ago. Then the 60 when my kids were little and my now 40 that has been a great rig and then morphed into a project that I just don’t have the time or energy to finish. Friend who we wheeled with have either moved or moved on to other things. My kids are gone and the wife and I have Aldo moved away from wheeling. Not sure how to proceed at this point. I’m going to sell it but it’s still an unfinished project but pretty close to being complete. Anyone with some skills could have it on the road pretty quickly. I’ve posted it on FB and CL and I’ve had a few tire kickers who of course low balled me but I’m mostly getting guys who want parts off if her. Its all 1 ton big stuff now. Corp 14 bolt, front driver drop 60, both ARB’d. Chevy small block and granny. Atlas case, 40” tires with real raceline beadlocks, racing seats etc etc etc. I know I’m never going to get what I’ve spent on it back. I get it and I know if I were to finish it I’d get a whole lot more but I’m just done. So my question is, if I sell all the big parts off to these guys who seem to want it, what is the value left for a complete body with hard top, frame, full doors, ambulance doors, steel half doors, cage, and stuff? I hate parting her out but at some point I need to pick a direction and go. Any insight on this would be helpful. Thank you.

What is your time worth? Selling pieces and parts might get you more for those pieces but then you are stuck with what's left.
Do an inventory with pics and set your price. I don't do farcebook and I only CL in my area. Post it in the MUD classified and have them haul it off on a trailer.

That's painful to read, but I completely understand your position.

Personally, I'd sell it whole, or darn near whole. In my experience parting something out is sheer ass-pain. People will call, make an appointment to come... and never show. Or they'll come... and low-ball you on price.

Having had that experience, I literally through stuff away because I hate dealing with flakey people.

charliemeyer007's first words are spot on. What is your time worth?

Ideally, I'd think you want someone to appreciate the blood, sweat, tears, and time you've invested in this project. My guess is you're more likely to find that in a 'Mud member.

I wish you good luck with whatever route you take.

Got a link to the sale ad?

I do agree that part outs are “ass pain”. The one I parted years ago took forever to get rid of everything.
That’s funny! A link. I wish I knew how to do that. I had a hard enough time just trying to remember my password then have to go back and re verify who I was snd get a new password via link. It’s on FB and CL in NV. Best I can do my man!
Anyway back to your answer. I think I’m more caught up in seeing her back on the road and I need to get over it. I can have all the big wheeling stuff sold pretty quickly which would leave a complete intact body with top and 2 sets of doors. Probably wouldn’t be too hard to sell that. Frame, probably scrap metal. Brand new PRP seats easy to sell. A huge 25 gallon full under seat tank from Spector. Waited a year for that and it wasn’t cheap. I think that might be a hot seller. After that it’s stuff like new 1 ton booster and master cylinder. New steering box. New flaming whatever steering column. Dash box from dome guy on here. I also have a custom made rear bumper that holds a real Jerry can, high lift and full size spare. It swings out. Probably could get that cold as well. And then a bunch of stuff that probably could just go by by. Like the original radiator. I’m going to post it on here and see what comes of it. Thanks.

Sounds like many thousands of bucks involved $$$$$. I'd bet you could find a computer savvy local person to help you post your ad with good pic's for $$.

Sell it once and move on. Done is good. I’d rather deal with one lowballer than 15. It’s emotionally draining.

It’s posted to the mud classifieds.

If your willing to spend all the work to part it out, wouldn't it make more sense to do the work to finish it and get more money for it?
My wife says the same thing! But with my limited knowledge I have to hire out most of the rest of this. Which means loading and trailering or take it apart and haul or whatever. But to part out what’s here us just unbolting and rolling stuff out.

Awesome. I hope it sells quickly for you. It would be nice if you post the actual sales price if you don't get your seems more than fair asking price IMHO.

Half ass bolt that top on and throw everything else inside the rig. With enough ratchet straps, you can move that no problem.
You could fit everything inside with the top on it except for the wheels and tires.
