Mot thanks! That helped a lot. It looks like the symbols for the colors are not read from right to left on the diagram like I would have thought.

Mot,
Am I correct? On the diagram the seat heaters are on the same circuit as the rear heater? I cannot read electrical diagrams but that is the way it appears. Can anyone clarify. I'm an idiot and I'm trying to wire these switches.

Thanks!

The diagram shows that the seat heaters are both protected by the rear heater fuse. They don't get power directly off the rear heater.

Anyone ever tried getting the OEM heaters / switches and retrofitting them in? I've got the OEM switches and I can order the $$$ OEM heat elements -but I'm unsure how much of the actual wiring is there in the car. I'm hoping that the OEM heat elements have pigtails to plug in to.

I used the factory switches but with aftermarket seat heaters obtained from Shane when I bought the Aatlas leather seat covers a couple years ago.
Plug and play would be nice but the small amount of wiring soldering with aftermarket heaters was worth it. They warm up fast.

Remember, no one but you would be able to tell that they weren't stock.

The pigtails to the switches are there (in a LANDCRUISER at least) under the console but depending if the OEM heater elements have all of the wiring attached or not, you might have to make a wire harness.
Honestly, aftermarket carbon fiber heating elements will probably be of better quality than '90's technology OEM elements. My aftermarket elements definitely heat up quicker than the OEM heating elements in my 2007 LX470.
Make sure you use a diode on the OEM switch if you use aftermarket elements.

Has anyone successfully tapped into the OEM harness under the console to power aftermarket seat heaters? I'd prefer not to run power wire to the battery.

What aftermarket carbon fiber units are you using? Link?

I don’t know what brand they were. I got them from a mud vendor aatlas1x aka metricTLC before he got sketchy and left the Mud community. His mud handle was Aatlas1x
He made good reproduction seat leather too.

This link from the post below, aatlas1x 40 series heat thread, this seems to be the one I installed (innovative heat extreme)
Seat Heater for Cars and Trucks from HeatedSeatKits.com

I've done a little searching but have not found much on this topic. I am about to recover the seats in my LX and want to add seat heat to the factory seats. I have looked at the Champion heater kit Champion™ Seat Systems | Seat Heaters, Seat Cooling, Massage Seats, Heated Seats | Vehicle Seat Comfort and heatedseatkits.com Seat Heater for Cars and Trucks from HeatedSeatKits.com

Both are carbon fibre and both look to have decent hardware from the limited photos.

Has anyone used either of these products or know of another brand which is good? Obviously I don't want to be pulling my seats apart ever few years to replace the element, so I'd rather spend a bit more to get a good product. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

You want ignition hot power for the seat heaters +12. If you don't want to run to the fuse panel by the driver's knee, you can tap into the rear seat heater relay under the passenger seat. There are handy ground bolts under the center console as well.
My seat heaters came with switch pigtails that I adapted to the OEM heater switches. They work great, but I'm patiently waiting for @NLXTACY to get the ashtray switch plate done so my sweet OEM heater switches don't keep falling out of the damn hole in my dash.

I ordered this kit from Amazon and plan to use the included switch. According to the below diagram, could I not tap 12V power from the blue-white wire that feeds the OEM harness under the console?

Sure. That's the same feed to the rear seat heater relay. You're just grabbing it at a different spot.
