I don't know if I have an issue with my seats or if it is normal...I'm 6' 1" or so (250#s) and I have to damn near kiss my knees to get in the truck. I'd love to lower the seat height, but it seems to be bottomed out. Is this normal, or do I have a seat malfunction (both driver and passenger)? Or am I just too huskey ?
what year lc? I'm 6' 1" too and don't have that problem. do your seats operate normally? when I got my 96 the seats didn't move and it was like that for me. I got the seat to move back and all is well...
I am 6-1’ 225 and my 91 I have no problems getting in and out. But in my 96 my knees touch the steering wheel getting in and out. I’ve lower and fully moved the seat back. The seats are just bigger I think.
Damn, I am 5'11 and a bit husky and I have to scrunch a bit to get into my '80. In addition, I can't heel and toe drive, I have to have the full foot on the pedals.
Somewhere on this site is a seat extension bracket for sale, from LandTank IIRC.
I'm 6'1" 225 and my '93 LC feels a bit small, but only after driving our Ram truck. After driving my wife's 4Runner the LC feels roomy.
For comparison, a friend has a '94 with cloth manual seats and it feels slightly roomier than my leather electric seat model. But my seats are more comfortable after a few hours behind the wheel.
Same Same Scrunching problem here. I'm 6'1" 217#, power seat all the way down and back, plenty of leg room when seated. 97 LC. I purchased it a few months ago and was thinking I need to to figure out a better mounting method as I drag my head on the top of the door opening every time I get in. May have to take up yoga to limber up my 50 y.o. spine.
6'2 here, and I'm looking for '99 - '06 Celica seats to swap in because they have the lowest seat bottom I can find. I currently have about one finger width between my head and the roof, and I regularly bang my head getting in. I've got a 94 with cloth seats.
Manual seats are lower then electric seats. I'm 6'2" and have no problem getting in my '92, but I almost always bump my head getting into my wife's '97 if I don't think about what I'm doing. Although 4.5" lift and 35s on mine and stock height on hers may have a little to do with it.
Holy Crap we 80 guys are a big bunch. We have a lot of guys on here over 6'3 and just in this thread most of us are over 6' and 200# . I'm just over 6'2 and have been over 240# until recently. Now 211# but I've never really had issues with my 93 with manual seats. Sometimes I feel like the seat doesn't sit far enough back, but that's mental as much as it isn't physiological. Having a garbage knee and lower back and living in the rainy PNW I sometimes feel crowded in the winter months. I know there are guys on here taller than most of us who don't have a problem. I think the space issue is largely an difference in preference and perception.
Well, I'm FATTER than all of you listed so far..... ("Husky"....HAHA)
I'm just big-boned......
Anyway, my 96 is a snug fit. My power seat is all the way back and all the way down and I am close to the ceiling (about 1") but I am comfortable when driving.
When I get in, I USED to try to slide in all at once, but I would hit my head all the time. Now I lead with my head and drag my butt across the seat. It keeps dragging the seat cover sideways, but I don't hit my head as much anymore.
I have a friend with a 94 and cloth seats that is taller than I am. I have driven his truck and his cloth seats are SO much more comfortable and are lower and farther back than mine that I have actually considered finding a set. However, they are not available in power and I just have something for power seats.
I'm 6'-5" and 270 lbs. and I don't have any trouble getting into the Cruiser, just have to duck my head some, (lean forward as I enter the doorway). Its AFTER I get in...that things seem kinda tight. Right knee is always at the shifter knob, no matter the seat setting.
I don't have a big 'belly' so the steering wheel is not an issue for me, I'm just bigger than this vehicle was designed for. I've learned to live with it.
I have a 96 with power seats and I am ...FAT ...and I feel exactly the same way. Mine does not have sliders or running boards and I think that makes a big difference. I am planning to put some on in the not so distant future. I put a box under my door and used it aprox where a slider would be and allows me to step up and into my truck and it feels a lot more natural than going ass first.
I think all of you fat guy's should sell your Cruisers and get something else, the image of people squeezing into it makes us look bad @NLXTACY he enables you guys with the things he sells to let the Husky crowd comfortable
I’m 6’2” 240. Never had an issue with my 92 with manual cloth seats. Got my 93 and it sucked with leather power seats. All the way back it was still snug. Switched to manual seats from a 92 and no problems since.
I took measurements and compared. Leather power seats sit a full 1.5” higher and 2+” closer to the wheel. That’s a huge difference. Keep in mind those measurements are old seat cushions/foam in the leather seats and new foam in the cloth manual seats.
