Scheelman seats, who to go to? (3 Viewers)

I have had both and have another set of recaro experts ready for my next build , I feel the Scheelmann seats are just hyped up to much and do not justify the extra cost vs the Recaro’s

Are the Recaros really that much cheaper? I am seeing the Recaros experts at around $1400 - $1800 per seat. About the same as a Vario F. I guess it all depends how you dress them up (or dress them down).

My buddy is a Recaro guy but said the Scheel look goos too. I realize seats/comfort are totally a personal thing, but close to $5k is tough to swallow if not really an upgrade. I know Recaro from factory stuff and have liked them.

I need to find a place to try both

The cheapest I’ve seen the expert M is $1290. The vario F was $1700 but maybe I’m not looking in the right places?

I also need to check sizes Becuase as 6’5” I’m going to need the XXL, I’m not sure what Recaro has for that yet.

Good lord.

How do your legs fit in a 70 series? I’m 6’ and feel that if I my legs were any longer I wouldn’t fit in either the 74 or 75.

I moved my seat 3” back. One of the reasons I couldn’t keep my HJ45, and Probabaly will never over a single cab cruiser.

It’s not so bad with my mods, but a taller seat would for sure help.

In research it looks like the max height with headrest on the Recaros is 32.5”. The Scheel XXL can get to 38”! Factory on bj74 is 31”.

I think the Vario XL while fitting me better will be just too big in there.

I does look like the Vario come stock with seat heaters in that price though.

From my experience, after about 1 hour of driving, you’ll be numb from the waist down so the lack of legroom really isn’t an issue. 😊

That’s how I managed to drive your Ute home🤣
Driving to the 70 Series Meet & Greet is 8-9 hours in duration and even with the extra legroom of the 79 Series it’s not overly pleasant. 😊

This is something you need to keep in mind with the seat brackets, whichever seat you choose.

I had to "modify" my planted brackets to move my seat back another 2 inches. I'm 6'1" and needed to move back this far to be comfortable. The back of the seat is still nearly vertical, so it's not like I'm riding like a gangsta. Just my legs were too long. Putting aftermarket sets may actually reduce available leg room if you're tall.

I used customized Bride bracket/rails from the Japan market that are intended for mating recardos to factory suspension 70 series bases since they didn't require much modification at all to mate to scheel-mann seats and it gave me a lot of added legroom but the backseat passenger area has lost a lot of legroom which isn't an issue for me since no one rides with me anyways.

You can get grey and then the delta seat cover which is available in black (if you get scheel-mann).

Here is my seat cover. Supposed to be grey but looks more green which disappointed me however the quality and fit of this cover has proven excellent so far.

Pic of my scheel-mann seats before I put the cover on the drivers seat which is actually motivating me to remove the cover. The grey scheel-mann vinyl just looks better itself.

Your 77 looks so much more comfortable than mine LOL

Anyone who wants to test out the Scheel-Man Vario F is welcome to sit in my troopy! come down to Oceanside, California.

I’ll pick you up at the airport, then we can cruise down to @prwillard2 to check out the scheels then spend the day getting wasted at all the San Diego breweries

That’s very tempting. Let’s reconvene when the weather gets crappier here…offers always open to come here and hang out as well in summer or winter if you want some snowboarding and a crap ton of breweries as well.

Which adapter brackets fit to get the record experts mounted on the 70 series suspension base?
