I wonder what year(s) work for the AT temp?

So far it's Phil's '99 and BManning's '02???

Dont count me in just yet:D....I was waiting to find another 100 to test because I thought my sending unit was bad due to the erractic reading(cooler reading when Im towing verses when I start the LC:eek:)

Running temp should be 158 - 176 °F and the highest reading I have seen is when I start the LC cold.:hhmm:

Hit a high of 159F in several miles of light-to-light driving in Phoenix today.

Curious to see where it'll peak in long bouts of stop & go galavanting in July & August when it's 105F+ outside...

Next experiments will be comparing temp in OD lockout vs. OD on and power mode vs economy mode; I usually run OD on/power mode on, especially when running the AC and now spinning heavy 285s (but LOVE the Revos).

got mine up to 147°F with ambient temp of 81° F the other day

I will try turning the OD off some time and see what happens too...I too drive mostly with Power/OD on and also love my 285 Revos. :)

You've got me beat, though-- I don't have a shark with a fricken lazer. I love the Revos more all the time; they did great messing around in the desert on rock, loose climbs, and fairly deep sand, but the ride & road manners are very, very good.

Hijack over (this is a Scangauge/trans temp thread); run OD on & OD off, power on and power off, and see what kind of numbers you get & I'll do the same. Nothing like geekin' it up with some data comparison.

Hwo do we acutally upgrade our scanguage to read the trans temp? What is the step by step on this?

All this talk has made me want to try this again. I drive through the city/highway all day and going on another 500 mile trip this weekend (70MPH speed limit and little traffic, then will be in downtown Atlanta for 2 days stop/go traffic, then back on the highway) so I'll give it another shot...

Did the programming and got it to work on my 2000. Ambient was only 59 today, and the trans only got up to 124 during my 18 mile drive home .

FYI, just programmed the XGAUGE for tranny temp this evening.

100 LC 2004 w/ 5-speed

ScanGaugeII

v3.17mb

Works perfectly!

I have seen 220 climbing some long steep grades (6% or better) at 50mph or above. Outside temp was in 80's. Maybe I need to move that big Hella light in front of trans cooler.

Yeah Phil, I would say either your version and/or tranny isn't compatible or you entered it wrong.

Mine starts a little above ambient temp. Around town is run 90-120 degrees F. On the interstate cruising at 70 it's 120-130 degrees F. Powering up a long mountain pass I saw a peak of 155 degrees F. Keep in mind for all of these numbers the ambient was around 55 degrees F.

P.S. The first try I missed a 0 somewhere and it gave me a reading of -600 degrees F. Knew right away that wasn't correct!

Highest I've seen is 163F in several miles of stop-n-go in Phoenix with outside temps in the mid-high 90s and the sun pounding.

Curious to see what temps I hit the first time I climb I-17 towards Sedona or Flagstaff on a hot AZ day...

A tech at ScanGauge entered the code for me:hhmm:

Now I need to find the post to the code?

Quick experiment this morning. I had a 20 mile highway drive.

Started out with the O/D locked out. Ten miles out the ATF temp stabilized at 120 F, ambient temp was 60 F, speed ~60mph. I pressed the O/D button and five miles later the temp came down to 116 F and stayed there. Also my displayed mpg went from 10 to 17. :D

Works on my '98. Mine also shows about 10 degrees higher than ambient at cold (12 hrs+ parked) start.

Repeated it in reverse on the way home.

Overdrive on, leveled off at 127°F, ambient temp now 72°F. I pressed the O/D lockout button and the ATF temp shot up to 140°F within two miles. Pressed the button again, shifted into overdrive, and the temp slowly came back down to 127°F.

So in a nontowing, flat road, 60mph situation my 100 likes overdrive.
