Did it twice and checked codes:frown::mad::crybaby:

I'm calling Scan-Gauge on Monday

EDIT - Just read this - I had heard that Toyota changed it's OBDII protocol in 05' so I don't think it will work for 05' and newer....:bang:

Scan Gauge's response from about a month ago about the tranny temp feature was "we are working on it". That was the same response they had 2+ years ago .

To be fair I think the real issue with obtaining this feature is the fact Toyota is very, very secret about all the ECU info/code for anything aftermarket for 3rd party suppliers Scan Gauge included; especially compared to GM, Ford and Chrysler.

Talked with Scan Gauge today but all tech was out for the day. I have software version 3.15 and there is a upgrade available to 3.17. The person I talked with said the changes should not effect the x-gauge operation. They do offer a free update on older version of software.

I noted that others have claim to have ATF and her response was all X-gauge codes are experimental and there is no guarantee they will work. She did make the suggestion of me stopping by (they are local) for the free update and to meet with a tech. Overall good customer service so far

To be continued...

Went down to SG and it seems to be run by a very young group. The place is very kicked back and work gets done between video games and Mcdonalds. They were very helpful and they updated my unit installed ATF temp and EGR temp (the latest) x-gauge. I did not have my LC but they felt it would work but claimed that x-codes are experimental and results may vary with even the same model. When I tried it on my LC it did not work. I called them to discuss and they told me they are working on it and it would be 2 months:rolleyes: I said I have been hearing 2 months for the last 2 years and the guy just laughed and said it a work in progress.

GREAT!!

You just ruined any chance that was left of them having to get the ATF and EGR temps working now! :flipoff2:

Thanks a lot! :D ;)

No no not a total loss...both ATF and EGR temp works on some models...you may need to buy a different vehicle to get them:flipoff2:

SG codes not working on my '03 LC either....

But, that Oly Beer logo brings back some killer memories... jumping off the bridge into the falls during my high school days while tourists watched in horror.... oh the fun of youth!!!! And yes, they DID leave the vat rooms unlocked, yet unlocked, and we'd sneak in a get beer...

works fine on my '99, just programmed it.

You got the tranny temp on your '99 100 series to display on your Scan Gauge II?

SG codes not working on my '03 LC either....

Maybe I've got the years off?
I'll have to look again, but I swear an 03' or 04' Taco got it to work.....not that they are the same vehicle :hillbilly:

That's what I said. I used hoser's posted code above. It got up to 110 on the 3.4 mile commute this morning. :D

Good to know: I took it FWIWW regarding A750F/5-speed only. Great news...the last piece to the info puzzle I needed and wanted!

On another note: I don't know how hot it gets but the t-case gets hot...real hot!

That is great news! I might have to buy an SG if somebody can verify it working on a '98. So far it has worked on a couple 2003's and a 1999.
