These are a way better solution over buying a used Toyota original -which if it hasn’t cracked - is about to crack.
One of the things I like about this truck is the removed washer system and welded up valence.

If you've got the space, I'd keep it as a parts rig. I bought a spare 60 about 10 years ago with full intentions of flipping it to make a few $$.
Decided to keep it instead and for whatever reason it's now a parts rig for my DD 60 that I've now had for 15 years. As our rigs get older it's amazing how great it is to have your own parts rig.

Washed and cleaned out. Been driving it around a bit.

We got our fall pruning done. Used the beater to haul some of the bigger chunks to the wood pile. Nice not having to worry about wrecking the carpet. Blew the front passenger brake line at the end of one of the rows

Minor update:
I think I mentioned that I pulled most of the interior out of this thing. Mice got inside while the truck was parked at the PO’s; the smell was bad and it was pretty dirty...
hot water power washed the rear seat to see what would happen. Positive results.

I bought rear doors for it today.
Complete with handles, latches and glass. Pretty happy with the condition considering they came off an Ontario truck.
A bit of the factory seam sealer was flaking off. I dug it out and sprayed converter on it.

Today was mild for December, so I took the opportunity to move things around and put stuff away.
I can finally start to make some progress on the beater. I received the provincial appraisal required for determining how much tax I have to pay (13% of determined value).
In Ontario (Canada), when you buy a vehicle more than 20 years old there is no book value. You have to get it appraised- so you don’t want to start making improvements until that’s done and the amount it set.
Started with some wiring; the left tail light was wonky. I pulled the panel and found a trailer converter spliced in with marrettes. The trailer end was ripped off and the wires rubbing the chassis.
That’s landline telephone wire, about 2ft long, and from what I can tell was linked between the ground of the tail light and the ground of the brake light. Removing it did nothing. Both lights work as intended.
I also hung the rust-free rear doors I got a few weekends back. This resulted in a significant decrease in overall rust.
If you look at the lower corner of the drivers door, you can see how blown out the seam is. Anyone got some rust&dent free fronts?

Yes, they come with a running/driving Land Cruiser.

I’ve done a few searches and added some 90-92 Land Cruiser front inner brake hoses to my list. The front hard line to the caliper started leaking a couple of weeks back. I was ready to fix it today, but the union on the backing plate is stripped. The hoses mentioned above will bypass the union and make it so you don’t have to bleed the brakes whenever you move the caliper.
Since I wasn’t able to make any progress on the brakes, I decided to pull the A/C bezel and repair the crack on the top and get it ready for paint.
You’ll notice the rear wiper switch is MIA along with the lighter. I had them on my list of parts to track down...
I removed the bezel screws, reached up and unclipped the connectors for the rear heater and defog switch. Got the bezel out and, both the lighter and wiper switch were behind the bezel
Here’s both. It looks like all the parts for the lighter are with it. Chrome escutcheon and all.
Used parts I’m after that are missing (in case any of the 2 people reading this thread have these items):
-2 rear wheel centre caps;
-Both front side marker lamps;
-Rear license light - yeah. Everyone is looking for this I know.

Saving stuff from the junkyard... if only I had more space! I definitely already have my little driveway maxed out with one Cruiser and another car I need to sell.

Hey, thanks for the offer. I had seen those body panels the day they went up and reached out to the seller, but no reply. I have a friend on the island who ends up in P. Alberni for work semi regularly- I figured I’d get him to store the doors if I could get them.
Island stuff is usually in nice shape. That said, the two rear doors I recently got out of Toronto were also in nice shape.
As to how many cars/trucks you can keep...I’d say if you’re living in T.O and even have a driveway you’re pretty lucky.
No worries, just wanted to throw it out there in case. I was really tempted to try to grab them for myself despite not needing the extra metal. Hopefully someone does and they don't go to the crusher.
One of the main reasons I chose my little apartment was the fact that the two (barely) car driveway is all mine.
Your new Cruiser looks a lot better than the first two I checked out in Ontario!

I have a rear License plate assy with lights and all. ITs got that slightly distressed look to it, but is all there and working. I'd be happy to ship it up your way in Canada. If you want to PM me I can send some pics and we can decide on a price that makes us both happy. Up to you. All the best

It’s photogenic, in reality it’s a 100 footer. Although the more colours I add to it the better it gets. Maybe I should hold out for some freeborn red front doors.
If you ever need somewhere to park yours for a while, I’ve got lots of space. Just leave the keys and full tank of gas
PM incoming. Distressed describes the condition of this rig pretty well.
This thread reminded me of a FJ55 that is in the town where I went to high-school and is close to the actual School. Back when I was in school there or recently graduated I asked if he wanted to sell it and the owner then asked me "What will I plow my driveway with?" 
fast forward about 24 years and that FJ55 is still there and when I drove past yesterday I saw it was still plowing the driveway. I hadn't seen it move from its spot next to the garage so I was worried it was not in operation....but worry not. Its a bit rustier looking these days but still doing its duty.
