Pirate eh? You sure you didn't see those on my new beadlocks first? I was raving about them at MM & Windrock. But whatever. I guess if you'd rather give P4x the credit instead of a fellow GA Cruiser... haha.

One thing I wish was different on mine though: May be overkill but on mine the petcock and the new valve stem are both on the flat of the inner rim and, as you stated, 180° offset - perfect. However, the hole for the old stem, near the outer edge, instead of sealing it off, leave a shorty stem there. What I've found is that it would be very convenient to have one stem for a clip-on air chuck while having the other for constantly monitoring the pressure. This keeps from having to add air, check pressure, add air, check pressure, add air....... Just my opinion though.

Ted, I know we haven't talked about the MTR's in a while but you still want the 37's? I MIGHT be picking up two 38" SX spares on the K2 trip so I'll be fully ready to part with all 7 at that point.

sorry buddy!!! Didn't mean to steel your thunder. Guess I missed or forgot they were on your rig already.

I like your other idea too but already welded the holes shut.

ok--the red was a bit much for me so wamo bango change-o. Finally got everything ready to mount up, only took 2 weeks. The hold up was finding a 1/4-18 Pipe tap for the dang drain cocks but Ace Hardware in midtown had one. New valve stems too!

ok call me confused, but are you going to weld the beadlocks on? or are they already done so?

they will bolt on. The ring with the threads is already welded on these wheels. Ted was going to convert his factory wheels to bead-locks that would require welding a set of rings onto each wheel.

there are variances to how different bead locks work but this is the concept. on DIY's, the inner ring is welded to the outside lip of the wheel, you can see part of the inner ring in the first 2 pics. In a manner of speaking you are creating a sandwich that goes: inner ring> tire <outer ring. All held together with bolts.

I'll be using 3/8 x 2.5" grade 5 bolts with nylock nuts in the inner ring. 25 per wheel, total of 100 bolts torqued to +/- 15lbs.

Ok now I am getting the concept. Another question, based on the picture, looks like the tires beads now sit on the outside of the wheel rim rather than inside.
Is that correct?

Ted, MTR's are finally ready to go. I picked up 2 38x16 TSL's in Dallas so I have two full-size spares now. They're not dismounted from the Champions yet, but we can talk and start trying to set something up soon or at least before GSMTR.

only cause I selfishly need gratification and was left out in the Franken thread :flipoff2:

Ted, I think that's as close as you're gonna get to 39's! Hahahaha

yep, got that one right. that truck was built for 37s, not 39s. It'd take a lot of trimming internal upgrades to make 39s work they way they should.

Yeah, those 37's are gonna go nicely under there I think. This is the first I've seen of the beadlocks too; they look great.

You busy Easter weekend? You see my thread about the GSMTR pre-run? I also texted Josh but he didn't answer yet.
