dare i ask how you even knew of such a product...hmmmm?

Ted,

How has the v6 treated you? I'm looking for a new DD and keep missing my ext cab 4cyl I sold last year. Found a few v6 but not sure as so many seem to blow HG, but who knows what their maint history was.
One advantage of the 3.0 is the ease of swapping in a 3.4 ;)
Thanks!

ahh, this has been a hot button issue for me for a long time. I get sick of reading about how the 3.0 sucks balls by people who have never owned one. I own 2

Is it a great motor, No. It's under powered for a 6 cyl. no doubt and gas mileage aint great either at around 16 MPG, BUT... for the most part they've been pretty good and I've racked up tons of miles on both. The 89 has 296K on it and my 92 has 208K with no major issues with either. Both had had the HG(s) replaced years ago under warranty.

Do your research before buying, if you can get the VIN # you can research whether or not the HG has been repaired. Good luck!!

well after doing this at the Annual during a night ride

I banged it back out with a 2lb hammer. It's holding air but don't know if it's round.

You know that could never happen to Henry... His wheels are never turning slow enough to allow something of this nature to occur.

More right pedal Ted!!

thanks bud, that's what usually get me in trouble.

"It's jut Ralph's", right?! --more mods from the Annual

So in the absence of having fun in Arkansas i tried to get a little work done this weekend in my own driveway. I ended up pretty much wasting the entire weekend working on on my tailgate setup which I'm probably going to ditch but while doing so I looked under the truck last night and something caught my eye. Pic doesn't really do it justice but it's tweeked perty good.

I am pretty sure I remember you doing that "mod" on Sat. night...

That took a hell of a hit. Good thing it was there, looks like it prevented a catastrophic event.

yeah but where? bout the only thing we did was come down Colby Creek which is where I tweeked the tailgate. I'm thinking I did it the work day in the rock garden.

I think I know how I tweaked the tailgate by the way, when I dropped off the rock at the very top of Colby Creek we must've landed squarely on the spare tire. The fix: ditch the tailgate and inboard the spare.

fer sure, time to either dismount and press back flat or rebuild stronger. :hhmm:

I think you did it on the same spot, just when the front fell off and I thought we were gonna flop the front over...It could have been on the rock garden too

could be I suppose just don't remember landing on the skid plate that hard.

My vote is to remove, discard and rebuild stronger. You may as well plan ahead.
