As a reminder Ouray Mountain Rescue will be at the Registration area on Monday morning to give a "What to do" class on how to react if something is encountered on the trail. You never know what you may experience or run across while in remote areas. This will be a very good knowledge tool for any of us who enjoy the outdoors no matter where we may be in the world. Looking forward to having this available to all interested.
First Timer class and trailrun will follow right after.

OMR will also be there for the raffle and will be selling shirts and hats that directly affect their volunteer organization. We will be auctioning off some generously donated items for them as well. Fortunately we haven't needed them for our group but they are on call 24/7 for those that need help in the wilderness.

Hands down, one of the worst things I've ever sanded. 🤣

But they are done!

Me three. There's a couple spots on mineral creek that get real cozy passing...I've had a few folks spaz out there (not this group, others on the trail). When people get scared and anxious they sometimes do dumb things or lock up entirely... to many people in a hurry. Don't let someone else's false sense of urgency ruin your day.

Don't ever be afraid to get out and kindly ask someone to relocate to a better passing spot for safety sake if you feel it's necessary. Same with offering to spot someone or just giving them a hand in general. Remember we are sharing these trails with all kinds of folks with all kinds of rigs and skill levels. Keep your head on a swivel around others and don't expect they will behave the same as everyone on this group.
Gracias, Amigo. Sage advice.

Me on August 1st as I collect my paycheck and hit the road to Ouray for Land Cruiser Summer Camp:

Seriously, thanks to everyone that makes this happen. It’s a huge undertaking. Big respect.

It's truly a labor of love for us. We appreciate everyone who chips in to help, our amazing sponsors and all of our dear friends, from all over the country, we've had the honor to meet over the years. You are all family to us, and we can't thank you enough for helping us keep it going. For the first-timers, welcome, and thank you for your support. We very much look forward to meeting you all. You're in for a great week.

Hey, folks. Hard to believe we are only a month out. One of our new sponsors, Amarillo Cigar Co. will be at the Texas Convoy party in Amarillo August 2. If you have a preference, please reply to this post with your favorites for camp and they will do their best to have them, or similar, at the barn that evening. They will have other merch, etc., as well.

I forgot about this but it is amazing. Now I don’t have to make a trip to the cigar store before I leave NC. Hopefully they have a selection of some stuff I can grab that night from them.

No. 😆 Wondering for cooking appliances.

Charging devices too I guess.

All of the map bits were sanded by hand. Which, was horrifying.
Man I bet. They're incredible, though. Beautiful work.

They'll have a table set up with a variety of nice cigars, and we told them they might want to have cutters, lighters, etc. available, too. You should be set for camp once you get here.

I’m pretty stoked that OMR is putting this on. They definitely need our support.

In that case, I'm bringing a pizza oven again. I don't think my Honda generator would run it.

And the waffle iron again

Lol stop by
