Yes the PO had added a shackle reversal kit and the starts to a Saginaw installation. We removed all of it so we could return it more to stock. The inside frame rails have been boxed. So here’s the progress. The tub has been mostly blasted and the fenders are next. Crazy the lack of rust. Really happy with it. Really only a little whiskey dent under the gas fill. It was mudded over and painted. It looks worse because I popped off a chunk of the filler. It’s not bad at all.

Here’s the solution we came up with for the center pivot. Pie cut the crossmember and then pulled it out and boxed it all in. It turned out well and seems stout.

Also swapped over the front axle with the OME springs and Bilsteins. Bolted up the 4Plus bumper. Removed the rear axle and bolted up the rear springs. More to come.

A little more work done today. Bolted up the rear axle with the longer U bolts we had to get. Those 45 springs are THICK. Also replaced the shift cover gasket and retorqued and new dust boot.

Little progress today. It snowed 8 inches over night. Perfect weather for working in the shop. Buttoned up the steering. Added a new battery on a new tray. Bolted on the front driveshaft. Added the bump stops in the rear. 35” tires from the K5 next to the 33x10.50s just to see. We bought a hypersonic cleaner from HF. The boy cleaned and sorted 3 coffee cans worth of nuts and bolts from all the FJ40 shenanigans. Overall a great day of country music and working in the shop with my boy.

So the we had a problem we had an extra front clip the boy said “I got an idea”. We will have more info on it. Right now it is just cardboard and duct tape as a mock up

Sing it with me…”making progress and it feels so good.” These parts look so great. Can’t wait to see them in the sun.

Alright here's the tub waiting for Raptor Liner on the interior floor. Freeborn Red in the sun baby! It looks so good. Hopefully we'll get this put on the chassis this weekend and start adding all the wiring and stuff. Lots of stuff.
